Excellent teacher! "I've been taking piano lessons with Bulent for over 2 months now and he's been fantastic! He really teaches how to play with a lot of feel for the music and helps hone your intuition for how a piece should sound. He's very precise and is great at identifying areas for you to develop skills on, or what things to practice etc."

Jessica has been amazing for me. First off, she has a very pleasant personality---which is always helpful. I contacted Jessica because I have sleep apnea and read that singing lessons could be helpful in building up the throat muscles and developing better breathing. I have also wanted to take voice lessons so it was two birds with one stone for me. I have been taking weekly lessons for about a month now and am already seeing improvement in both my voice and, more importantly, in my sleep quality. Jessica has gone the extra mile for me in finding voice exercises which will assist in my apnea. She has been doing some online researches and has even ordered a book on the subject. She is fun to work with and it is obvious that this is less about money than it is about her passion for music. Her rates are extremely reasonable and she is generous with her time. I look forward to many more lessons with her and cannot recommend her highly enough. Jessica is a true professional. If you have ever thought about voice lessons you cannot go wrong giving her a call.

I have been taking piano lessons from Marietta since October 2014 at her studio in Watertown, MA. I am a thirty something year professional who decided to learn piano and have been looking for a piano teacher for a while until finally found Marietta on Thumbtack. Upon meeting her I realized that she is the one and my search is over. Marietta is a highly professional piano teacher, she is patient with beginner students like me and very passionate about teaching. She has students at all ages and levels. She highly emphasizes on correct coordination and technique and make sure you have adopted the right hand skills before she moves on to the next lesson. She is very nice, supportive and approachable and you can always ask any questions you might have. I live and work far from Watertown, but I think piano lessons with Marietta is totally worth the 15 mile commute.

My son has been taking piano lessons with Lenae for the past 5 years and we have been very happy with her. As he is approaching his teenage years, it's been a bit of a struggle to keep him interested but Lenae works hard to keep him engaged. She tries to find music he prefers while keeping him progressing musically. She is very patient and has a gentle manner with my son. Lenae also provides thorough and useful feedback on a regular basis. I would highly recommend Lenae if you are seeking piano lessons for your child or yourself (she has adult students too).

It was a pleasure to take piano lessons with Don in his studio. He is professional, organized and kind! I was given a binder to help organize homework, repertoire. But I had to take a break from lessons for personal reasons. I think I will return to them soon next year! And Don will definitely be one of my top choices.

I have taken guitar lessons from Alan Donati for a number of years in order to better understand music. Being a weathered rock/blues drummer myself, I can attest that Alan is a very accomplished musician and seasoned music teacher who learned his craft via years of playing in rock, blues and jazz bands as well as attending Berklee as a solid foundation. Alan can teach a number of instruments well such as guitar, bass and piano alongside incorporating music theory with the practical applications. He is very adapt with technology as well as “old school”. I have seen Alan teach many students with great patience with tailored attention to the particular student’s interest. Some veteran musicians can only play well but not teach. However, Alan can obviously do both. And so I am giving Alan an outstanding review and rating.

My son took beginner piano lessons from Fiona last year. He is a very sensitive boy and was nervous about learning an instrument for the first time, but Fiona put him at ease right away. She has a sweet and earnest teaching style, and explains new concepts in a way that's welcoming and easy to understand. I know her willingness to teach him whatever music he wanted to learn went a long way towards keeping his attention on the piano and away from the iPad. We always looked forward to our lessons with her!

After taking piano lessons from a traditional piano teacher for 6 years, I needed a change. Steve was the perfect choice. He played at a local piano bar at the time, and I wanted to hone my skills so I could play in bands, too. I assumed he would teach me the ins and outs of chords and then send me off to conquer the music scene, but it turned out he had a real mastery of musical theory, and he held it to a very high importance. He began each of our lessons with music theory - all the basics that make a solid foundation for any musician. Then, he introduced a new concept to something I had been doing all along. He gave me sheet music to learn - tough teaching songs - then after a time, began blocking my view of my hands with paper while playing. Eventually, he'd block my hands and take away the music, teaching me a very important part of playing anything in front of people. You have to know the music inside and out. You can't rely on the sheets in front of you. That's the only way you can truly immerse yourself in the song and let your fingers do the playing. His fees were reasonable and the time was very well-spent. You have to do the work between lessons to get the most out of them. Steve has a true mastery of live performance on every level, and it would behoove any musician, young or old, beginner or skilled, to spend a year in his teaching. We can all benefit from it. I certainly did. I've been in various bands, ever since, and I haven't looked back except to remember who helped me get here.

Tim did a great job taking me from someone who had rarely sung to someone who then became very comfortable singing along with my part time profession of playing piano and keyboard. I was happy with my progress after working with Tim and him giving me the necessary coaching I needed.

Ivan was absolutely wonderful. He was very accomodating to my schedule and was always very quick to respond. I am unfortunately unable to continue my lessons due to my own schedule restrictions, but I highly recommend Ivan for any new piano learners and I will be sure to continue lessons with Ivan in the future whenever my schedule allows!

As her private student for 11 years, she has "saved my life"from the mundane by leading me into the magical and romantic world of classical music. Her impeccable training in Ukraine since the age of 6 has made her an outstanding pedagogue in music. You can feel her passion and enjoyment as she plays and teaches. I have made much progress from her tutelage and look forward to our lessons every week. Her personality is modest, confident and kind. She is beloved by her students, young and old. I met Tatyana just after she arrived in the US with minimum English skills. She took English lessons at the International House of Rhode Island where I was Executive Director, and quickly advanced to high levels of proficiency. She is extremely intelligent and creative in her teaching methods. She is a treasure, and students wishing to learn piano from her are the luckiest, including myself. I invite anyone interested in studying with her to email me with further questions or recommendations. from: Marilyn vonKriegenbergh Cranston, Rhode Island marilynvk16@gmail.com

I've only just begun working with Martin, but I think we're off to a great start. I have very little by way of formal instruction, so I have a lot to learn, and I'm glad I've decided to take lessons, even though I'm in my 30s. Martin is very knowledgeable and patient, and his piano is just so lovely.

I had an overall amazing experience learning piano from Nikita. I recommend having him to teach your kid or if you personally want to learn piano. He takes his time and doesn't rush like other teachers I've been to. I had some music background before coming to his lessons, but I wasn't confident. Now I'm excelling in various musical pieces. Thank you Nikita!
