Guitar Lessons : I had a good experience with Andy. I had to stop lessons for a long out of town trip. Plan on starting back in the spring 2014. I had a mixed bag of guitar skills and he was able to focus on what I needed to learn and show me how to do it. Thanks
I have taken guitar lessons from Alan Donati for a number of years in order to better understand music. Being a weathered rock/blues drummer myself, I can attest that Alan is a very accomplished musician and seasoned music teacher who learned his craft via years of playing in rock, blues and jazz bands as well as attending Berklee as a solid foundation. Alan can teach a number of instruments well such as guitar, bass and piano alongside incorporating music theory with the practical applications. He is very adapt with technology as well as “old school”. I have seen Alan teach many students with great patience with tailored attention to the particular student’s interest. Some veteran musicians can only play well but not teach. However, Alan can obviously do both. And so I am giving Alan an outstanding review and rating.
I strongly recommend Barbara as a violin and viola teacher and as a chamber music coach. She is a versatile violinist/violist who is active in many orchestras and chamber music groups in the Boston Area and her enthusiasm for the music is infectious. I have studied with Barbara for over 20 years. As an adult student with work and family responsibilities over the years, I found Barbara to be flexible regarding scheduling lessons and working with me to accomplish my goals given my available time to practice. I've observed Barbaras teaching style with children, adolescents and adults. She is consistently kind and patient. She helps students understand the style and context of the music they are studying. She also connects the technical details of violin playing to musical expression in ways are understandable and appropriate for different age groups and musical experience level. She always praises what students do well and patiently describes and demonstrates how they can correct mistakes and improve the quality of their playing. She applies the same principles and techniques in lessons with both her adult and young students. Bernadette Shapiro, Adult Student Lexington, Massachusetts
Daniel is a meticulous and skillful instructor- exactly the kind of teacher I was looking to find here in the Cambridge/Boston area. Since I have some years of violin experience in the past, I was looking to fine tune and improve certain techniques I felt were lacking in my playing. After the initial trial class, Daniel was able to pinpoint what techniques and skills I needed to work on. In each lesson, we work on foundational exercises, technique and also repertoire. Although it's only been a few months, I honestly feel like my playing has improved under Daniel (more so than it ever has under any other instructor I've had) because of his steady guidance and ability to find new ways to target roadblocks. I feel he sincerely cares about improving his student's skills. I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone who is looking to becoming a better violinist. He is one of the best!
I took piano lessons with Mary. She is a wonderful and professional teacher. I would highly recommend New England Music Studio - Great learning experience and a lot of fun
I only spoke with Josh on the phone but he was very polite and helpful. We would have loved to have him as a teacher but he was located too far from the student.
I decided to take up the violin again after last having touched one over forty years ago. I have been taking violin lessons with Haley for over six months. She quickly helped me get back some sense of the instrument. She has been patiently taking me through scales, rhythm, tempo, sight reading , and in addition has exposed me to the basics of music theory. I have found her to be welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, yet also professional. We go through scale drills, are making our way through basic Hal Leonard books, and even do a little jamming on some rock ballads that she has downloaded for us to play along with. I haven't been practicing as much as I could or should, but Haley is cool with it. It's all been a challenge for me, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. When I progress to a higher level of playing ability, I am certain her high level of violin musicianship and teaching skill will be greatly helpful in allowing me to reach my musical goals. I would highly recommend Haley as a violin teacher for aspiring musicians of all skill levels.
He is awesome and personable!
At over 60, taking violin lessons for the first time could have been painful. Laura makes sure that it isn't. I love learning from her. She is a gifted teacher and talented musician who knows how to adjust lessons to the individual student and encourage without lecturing. I highly recommmend her for either performance or instruction...for any aged student!
Susannah is an incredible teacher. She gave me technique lessons during my undergrad and helped me diagnose some very important issues! She was always willing to work around my crazy schedule and made time for me around hers. Susannah has been a crucial part to my development as a violinist, and I can't say enough good things about her!
Tony Morales is an excellent teacher. He taught out of my studio in St.Louis and was able to work with young and old alike. His creativity is inspiring and we were Very Happy with him. He is very talented and proficient in his violin skills.
I used to play trumpet but wanted to shift to violin for a softer sound. I had never held a bow before and didn't know how to place my fingers or anything. Niki has taken a potentially daunting process and made it accessible, helping me learn the basics little by little. She is really encouraging and good at identifying areas to hone in on. Her own experience as a performer comes through, and it is fun to work with her. I am so happy to have found Niki to teach me and recommend her for any range of levels!
We used the Mozart Academy for our son's guitar lessons. The teacher was friendly & fun, the rates were competitive & he even got to participate in a recital. Highly recommend!
I offer private violin, fiddle and viola lessons for ages 3 to adult, beginners through advanced. I use both Suzuki and traditional approaches. I am available for lessons both in my home studio in Millis, MA or in your home. I will travel up to 10 miles from Millis. Rates: In your home: - One-hour lesson: 50.00 per hour lesson. A little more if I have a long distance to drive. Parents of young students are strongly encouraged to attend all lessons, to take notes, to "be the teacher at home" and to supervise the student's practicing every day. Students are strongly encouraged to listen to recordings of each piece that is being studied.
Mr. Fred Delgizzo worked around my schedule for my first 30 minute guitar lesson. He was very willing to meet me where I'm at; a beginner when it comes to music and a complete stranger to the guitar. He is very friendly and patient with me. The only negative is that my fingers hurt, but I don't believe even the best of teachers can do anything about that. #waitingforcalouses
I am a professional violinist with music degrees in violin performance. I have a lot of performance experience, and I'm trained in teaching the Suzuki method.
I love to see my students getting better but I really love to see them enjoy playing their instrument.
I am a violin teacher, and I love teaching classical.
