I was a client of John Smithhart and K9 Good Manners during the time that I had a Belgian Malinois. His support and expertise was priceless during some very rough and discouraging times! My dog did go to him for obedience training and even months after I brought her home, he was always available and understanding whenever I had questions or concerns. My dog came home wonderfully trained but her vibrant, fun personality was still intact. I loved that his program just made her a more disciplined, focused and obedient version of herself. I would recommend his services to absolutely anyone! He's an honest and dependable person that provides an irreplaceable service to dedicated dog owners.

John was great to work with, even from two states away. He was very responsive to my questions and requests. He even drove several hours to meet me half way and pick up my dog Dexter, so that I didn't have to make the entire 6-hour drive to his location. In addition, John and his team did an excellent job training Dexter. When we picked him up after the 6-week course, he was a completely different dog! And during those 6 weeks, he would send pictures and give updates about how the training was going. I would highly recommend John and K9 Good Manners.

John Smithhart is an amazing dog trainer. Her took what seemed to be an untrainable dog and trained him. The program was scheduled for six weeks and Spike was slowly responding. John saw the need for more improvement and kept Spike for 3 more weeks. Then John drove with Spike back to Ocean City and taught my family how to deal with Spike. John had the patients of a saint!,

John has done a wonderful job with two rescue/shelter dogs who went through his six week course! These were two dogs who were very out of control because of their unfortunate background, but they were perfect after training and have both done wonderfully living in a home. He also has a great method of training that helps to build confidence rather than to cause the dog to behave out of fear. I would not take my dogs anywhere else for training! I

John is an excellent dog trainer! Our German shepherd was not socialized when we got her and would cower and cry at any attempt to put a leash on her. Now she is well socialized, very well behaved and is the great dog she was meant to be. Even our three year old can walk her unattended.

We work with all issues to include Aggression, house training, jumping, nipping, digging, chewing, puling, and many more. We are available to help you and your family find the right dog that fits your/your families needs and train the dog as well. We also do provide Protection Training if clients have a dog that is selected for this type of job. Protection Dog's are also available for purchase.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Remember it's not the business plan your hiring. It's the Trainer. You want a Trainer who is accomplished and can articulate to you what and how they do the job. Dog training takes compassionate people. Not people looking to franchise and get rich quick.
