Fantastic service! The technician was able to determine that my charging problem was due to my cable and not my phone - thus cutting my costs from $90 for a new charge port to $20 for a cable. I really appreciated that they took the time to reproduce the issue I was having. I've already recommended them to one other friend with a cracked screen that needs fixing.

Charged double the original quote with no prior warning! It is no cheaper to buy factory refurbished newer phones than to get my old one back!

Smartphone M. from SmartPhone Medic replied to this review on April 16, 2014:

John, sorry to hear about this. Can you please contact me so that I can see what happened and what can be done? Ask for Demetril at 803-354-3275. Yes, sometimes it is cheaper to buy factory refurbished, but if you don't want to get someone else's refurbished device and go through the hassle of transferring all of your info over to that device, then repair is just another option. We have many customers that come to us with "new refurbished" devices that still have issues.

Went in office, he wouldn't fix my Droid 4 because they are supposedly a pain in the a$$. Went on thumbtack, then he gives me a price inflated higher than anyone, naturally.... Must be nice to pick and choose customers..........

Smartphone M. from SmartPhone Medic replied to this review on September 11, 2013:

We totally dropped the ball on this one. We did stop repairing the Motorola Droid 4, but everyone in our organization was not aware of that so the customer was quoted a price on Thumbtack. So sorry we caused such a huge inconvenience for this customer and we offered another solution for his repair.

SmartPhone Medic was not able to fix my phone. It would have cost more for him to fix it than to use my Insurance. However, he was very courteous and prompt with his replies.

I was VERY upset when I cracked the screen on my iPhone 4, and was in need of a quick reasonable repair. I heard about SmartPhone Medic from a friend but they were located about an hour away from me, so I called to inquire about their services. The person on the phone was extremely friendly and told me to bring it by anytime and gave me the price of the repair. I dropped my phone off at SmartPhone Medic the next day and returned just a couple hours later to find my phone as good as new! Even repaired some minor issues I was having with my home and wake/sleep buttons. Great service at a great price!

I found SmartPhone Medic via an internet search and called to find out the price for replacing the cracked screen on my iPhone. The price I was quoted was about half the price of having it replaced by AT&T. I took it to SmartPhone Medic and went shopping; came back the same day and picked it up. Looked like new. Great quick customer service. I would highly recommend SmartPhone Medic. You will be happy with the service and the money you save.

Demetril did a great job with my waterlogged phone. I thought it couldn't be repaired since leaving it in a bag of rice overnight didn't work, but since I took it by SmartPhone Medic, it's worked like a charm. Going on a year now. Great work great people.

Great place and very honest. I had 2 Ipods which I believed that the internal batteries were shot. Smart Phone Medic, cleanded the contacts, fully charged and tested both devices and didnt charge me a dime. Since then I have taken a touch ipod to have screen replaced and have recommend them to several of my coworkers for cracked I-phone screens. all have been very pleased with the quality of service along with their prices.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The most common types of jobs we do for our clients are shattered touch glass replacements. Most people don't realize that their iPhones, iPads, iPods, etc., have touch screens made of glass until it drops and shatters. We are able to replace the shattered touch screen with a new one for a fraction of the price of replacing the device.

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. Three recent jobs that we've completed are:

1. A customer brought in her one week old iPhone 5 that got dropped in a bathtub full of water. When she dropped it off with us it would not turn on and she was afraid that it was done for. We quickly started our liquid damage treatment and had it back up and running within 24 hours. She was very grateful.

2. We recently had a customer bring in a Kindle Fire that would no longer take a charge when plugged into the wall charger. We quickly recognized that his charge port had come loose from the motherboard. After taking it apart and soldering the charge port back onto the motherboard it charged just fine.

3. Another customer had a Samsung Behold II that they had forgotten the passcode to because they had not used it in months. We quickly restored the phone while they waited and they were able to use the phone once again.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When looking for a repair service for your damaged smartphone or other device, be sure to look for or ask for customer reviews. This will tell you a lot about the company and how they treat their customers before and after the repair. Price should not be the most important factor that you use when trying to decide who to go with.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. This is a very green and earth friendly service. The highest form of recycling is to repair and reuse.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. 1. Do you offer a warranty?
2. How long will the repair take?
3. How long have you been doing this?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our work stands out from others who do what we do because of our attention to detail. We take our time to make sure that we get repairs done with the craftsmanship that they deserve.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What we like most about our job is helping people. There is no better feeling than giving someone back a working device, that they thought was not repairable.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Here are some questions that customers most commonly as us:

1. How long will the repair take? Most repairs are finished the same day if they are droppoed off before 2pm.

2. How much will the repair cost? Repair costs vary from one device to the next, so there is no one cost for all repairs. However, the average repair cost is about $99.

3. What hours are you open? We are open Monday thru Friday from 9am to 6pm. On Saturdays we are open from 10am to 2pm or 5pm depending on the location. We are closed on Sundays.

4. I dropped my device in water. Can you fix it? With any water damaged device there is a 50/50 chance that it can be repaired. The odds go up greatly if you do the following: 1) Turn off the device and remove the battery if possible. Do not power on or attempt to charge the device, as there still may be liquid on the inside. 2) Bring your device to our closest location so we can take it apart and properly clean the inside of the device before corrosion begins to set in.

5. I got my device wet and I put it in a bag of rice. Will this fix it? NO!! Putting your water logged device in a bag of rice is not going to fix it. The rice will not get inside the device and clean the deposits that will be left on the inside once it dries out. These deposits and corrosion is what kills the device. They can bridge areas on your motherboard and cause something to short out and then it will not be repairable or it will cost a lot more to repair.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. We are currently working on improving our store appearance and tech work area. With our recent move to 1801-A Gervais Street we have been able to provide our customers with a fresh and new waiting area and our techs have a great work area that is clean and more organized.
