Steve was hired to to do what we thought was a simple tile job, replacing missing/damaged tiles to the shower wall in our recently purchased home. After removing the old tile, we were shocked to find out that the walls were totally rotted out! Upon further inspection he discovered the floor (and subflooring) under the tub was rotted also! The cause of all the water damage? Old, rusty deteriorated plumbing fixtures (pipes, drains faucets) that were hidden from plain view. Steve "held our hand" every step of the way, assuring us through his calm demeanor, expertise and skill as he spent the next three days tearing out all old bath and shower components (including floors and walls) and totally rebuilding and installing the new shower and tub! Knowing we were first time homeowners who just moved in, he was extremely generous with the bill he presented to us. We will definitely call on him for future repairs/remodel projects!
Steve is the best! I had a big project of needing someone to come hang drapery rods and wall mounts for my TV's and Steve responded to my request. He came and installed everything and did a wonderful job. He was so nice and cleaned up after himself. We have several other projects and will for sure be reaching out to Steve for help. He was very professional and you won't regret hiring him.

Mark did an incredible job for us! He patched, mudded and taped some pre-1970s drywall that had been under paneling and was in bad shape. He also patched a very difficult area of the ceiling where we had removed a dividing wall. Finally, he patched two areas of floor tile where a kitchen bar and a wall had previously been located. All this work was performed in a timely manner and with an impressive eye toward quality. Mark went out of his way to ensure we'd be happy with the final product. The price was fair and the work was completed in a reasonable amount of time - communication was great throughout. We'll definitely be using Mark's services again!

David Binder can do it all -- construction, repairs, lighting, electrical, flooring, you name it. We hired David to install a new floor in our den, install new lighting fixtures and "under the counter" lighting in our kitchen, create a closet and install new exterior / interior wall covering where a window unity had been located. David did outstanding work in all areas. He is especially gifted with floor transitions from room to room and excels in his work. We were impressed with his thorough communication, reasonable costs, and attention to details. We will definitely have David come back for more projects in the near future. No doubt, he is the best handyman we have ever hired in our 27 years of home ownership!
I had initially hired a handyman to do some work around our new house, and there was some drywall that was stained from an old leak. Our handyman tried to repair it, but ran into some issues getting it flush on the ceiling. While he knew drywall, he was not an expert. In comes Mike with MVM Construction, and he was able to swing by, take a look, give me a reasonable quote, and had guys there by that afternoon since I was hoping to get it done before move in! Whatever issue our handyman ran into was no problem for Mike's guys. They quickly patched things up, and it looked beautiful. As they were doing the work they made some marks on the wall, so while the drywall mud was drying, they took a trip to the store, got a perfect match on the paint color for the wall, and fixed that, too! That gave them the time to put on the second coat of mud, get the ceiling painted, and you'd never know the drywall was cut out. Very impressive work. The quote was a little higher than others I had received, but it was worth every penny.
Morgan is the perfect person to hire for the random skilled, experienced based jobs I needed help with around the house. From slight electrical work to installation pieces on wall, so happy to have someone so efficient and competent to call . Plus, he's a nice guy too. Thank you Morgan!
Jason initially responded to a search I made for someone to demolish a house of mine. We determined, upon talking, that the job was bigger than the kind of demolition that he normally does and that he would not be a good fit. However, I was so impressed with our conversation that I inquired about his interest in doing some other miscellaneous handy work around our house. The biggest job was a closet rod and shelf that had fallen down; there were also other little things that we could do ourself but didn't want to. Jason charged hourly. He arrived on time, he was pleasant and detail oriented. He found the closet job to be a little more challenging than planned because we live in an old house and the plaster walls are not square or even flat. He ended up having to stop and re-do some things, but he did not charge me for the entire time he was here because he took responsibility for his own errors and felt that he could have worked more efficiently. I really appreciated his integrity and his determination to do the best possible job! I was very satisfied with all of the work that he did. Sadly, these were all that I had paid someone else to do but which were not executed well. I like that Jason claims to stand behind his work and expressed that he would come back if any of his work fails.
I had a French drain dug along one foundation wall and the wall waterproofed due to a small incoming water issue. Brian and Alan sent a great crew ( Nick and Lance ) who completed the job in less than 2 days - manually digging with shovels! They even worked overtime to finish before a huge rainstorm hit Nashville. ( I was glad they didn't use a machine/backhoe, which prevented any catastrophes.) Brian came out several times to inspect the job and even helped me install a new mailbox post out front... for *free*! Now tell me, what contractor would do that?!? They also came back and leveled, seeded and strawed the whole thing....excellent work. These guys know what they are doing and give great value at a very reasonable cost.
Paul just finished painting all interior walls in our new house, and he was quick and did an excellent job. Flexible and easy to communicate with. He even made sure to come and wrap up the finishing touches for us right after the snow storm we just had - he is dedicated to his craft. Definitely will recommend him and be requesting wood work in the future!
I had hired Kyle of Cornerstone General Contractors to repair my roof and gutter that were damaged from a hail storm that happened during the summer months, also I had a leak inside one of the bathrooms from that storm also, he and his crew came early to do roof the next morning and finished in one day. They made sure every thing was picked up and cleaned like it was when they started. The crew that took care of the interior of the bathroom came the next day and started working on the ceiling and wall that was damaged. it took them two days for replacing wall board and ceiling area. After that they repainted the whole bathroom. He and his crew are a TRULY profressional in the work they do. I WOULD DEFINITELY hire them for any project that i would have in the future.
Create a room w/4 walls where there was an open space, remove garden tub, Repsir hole in kitchen ceiling where son put his foot through ceiling & install storage cabinets in garage. some of the employees were learning on the job & needed closer supervision which is why I only gave 4 stars.
Donnie provided a competitive quote for a full deck build on our lakefront home. This was actually a floating deck on top of a rubber membrane roofed structure. They handled everything from tearing down the old structure, pouring new concrete, erecting the roof structure, building the deck to our specs, all the way to utilizing the cable handrail of our choice. While they did a superb job of all of these items, we felt very comfortable with the precision of all of the work done. Donnie and his entire team were extremely punctual and finished the job ahead of schedule. We loved their work so much, we invited them to the next phase of our project by removing a load bearing wall in the main living area of our home. This phase included not on the the removal of the wall, but refinishing the drywall, installing numerous lighting fixtures, paint, installation of 4 sliding door units, and installing and finishing new hardwood flooring. Donnie is a person of honor and trust. You can't go wrong with him and his team of professionals.
THE JOB: The project was to paint the entire interior of our home so we could list it for sale as quickly as possible. Of the five bids we received, Affordable Painters' bid was second lowest, but very close to the other two mid-range bids we received. (We felt the very lowest and very highest bids were unrealistic, so they were not chosen.) We chose Affordable Painters because my wife really clicked with Shawna and, judging from their past work, we were convinced they would do a quality job on time and on budget. PLUS: The painters were professional and personable. They worked efficiently, cleanly, and quietly. They cleaned up behind themselves as they went, so the house was as undisturbed as possible throughout the job. The job cost exactly what the estimate said it would. The painters' work was satisfactory-to-very good, and Shawna came in behind them before final payment and fixed any necessary touch-ups we pointed out. MINUS: Our initial meeting indicated that a group of 3-4 painters would be working on our house. We thought such would be the case for the duration of our job. As it turned out, we had one painter most of the time; he was joined by another painter for two days (with two no-show days by the second painter in between). When we pointed out that the deadline was looming, and the carpet layers would be there the next day, three painters showed up on the final day and knocked it out. So they did finish on time, but we had a lot of anxiety about the adequacy of the crew until that heroic final day. Also, we felt Shawna could have been more helpful with our choice of paint color. She essentially said, "choose something in this color palette (light earth tones tinged with gray, which is apparently this year's hot color), and you'll be fine." Now that the color is on the wall, it reads bluish-gray, far less beige than we imagined. In retrospect, we would have appreciated more consulting on color selection, including swatching several color samples on the wall so we could see what they looked like in the light. OVERALL: We are happy with the job that was done, and feel we got commensurate value for the money. We would choose Affordable Painters LLC again, especially having learned some lessons about putting colors on your wall before making a final selection, and certain details to put in the contract regarding who is responsible for trim and molding touch-up.
Cleaned up my yard, removed limbs, also dry wall, painting, trim work. Was quick and we'll done. Cleans up after her self. Highly recommended!

My husband removed a wall and Lou did an excellent job removing and relocating all of the wiring and switches at a reasonable price and within our time frame. I highly recommend him to anyone for any electrical or handyman project. In addition, Lou is a veteran of the US Navy so we also trust him and feel good about supporting him and his family. When we replace our old flooring with wood floors, or have any other handyman project, we will definitely be calling Lou again!
