I enjoyed my first piano lesson with Tatia. She was quickly able to ascertain my experience and ability and gave me pieces and scales to work on that suit me. Tatia is pleasant to work with and I look forward to more lessons and to making progress in my piano playing.

About

Jonathan has taught our two sons piano since 2006. That they have continued is a testimony to his effectiveness. He is not a one size fits all teacher, and adapts his method to the ability and interest of the student. He has always been honest, accommodating and punctual. I value having our teacher come to our home for lessons.

Dave and I have recorded and performed together in New York. I have found he is a patient teacher, a great player, extremely knowledgeable, and a nice, down to earth person as well. I learned so much about music just jamming with him, it was bound to be in his blood to teach. If Dave ever asks you to do a gig and you say, "No"... It's your loss. Every show with him is like taking a masters class in music. I say this with all sincerity, and experience.

I am one of Mark's older students. I decided to learn to play guitar a little late in life. I actually ran into Mark while purchasing my guitar, so when I found out he taught lesson, I decided to give him a try, and contacted him for a lesson. I explained to him that I have no musical background. Can't even read music, but Mark told me it is not too late, and don't worry about reading music right now. He taught me tablature, so I was able to play the intro to Sweet Home Alabama during our first lesson. I've been taking guitar lessons with Mark for the last year. I really enjoy them. Mark makes learning easy. He is comfortable to be around, and he keeps the pace at your level. Mark is very encouraging to his students. He is great at listening to a song, and showing you how to play it at your skill level. He even got me to play the electric guitar a few weeks ago, which I had no desire to do. (I prefer the sweet sound of the acoustic guitar.) To my surprise, I actually liked it. The lessons are pretty much about you. Mark will ask if you had any problems with something you learned in the last lesson and take the time to work on it more with you, or encourage you to try a different song, which will teach more chords, or how to be more efficient on finger movement. If you have a favorite song, Mark will help you learn to play it. Mark is a walking guitar encyclopedia, and really knows and understands music! Mark is very flexible and accommodating with his appointments. My lessons are usually around 8:30pm due to my work schedule, which is great for me. I would definitely recommend Mark as an instructor!

I had the wonderful experiencing of having Ray teach my son. My son is very young and it was his first time in any kind of one on one teaching experience outside of our home. Ray was so patient with him. The lesson was so useful because even now I see my son practicing what Ray was teaching. I strongly recommend hiring Ray Elliot.

My correspondence with Heidi was wonderful. We had everything lined up and although I did not take lessons (due to an extreme hardship which arose) at this time, and because of her professionalism, I will definitely select this same person if my circumstances change.

Emma is a wonderful piano teacher. She has been my teacher for over a year and I so enjoy taking lessons from her. In returning to piano lessons after a break of several decades, I feel fortunate to have found someone like Emma. With her gentle demeanor she is able to create a warm and easy atmosphere for learning. She is encouraging and supportive of my efforts and has helped me overcome much of my anxiety about playing in front of others. It's so important to have a piano teacher with whom you feel comfortable; Emma is a great fit for me.

She helped me with so many things, from mapping out the vocal to super-star consonants. Being a Nashville based singer and musician, I know first hand that a good voice is not enough; here, you have to be a great voice! Zelda can take you there. I highly recommend her vocal coaching! Five Stars - Trenton C. Age 30. I came to see Zelda on the recommendation of a good friend. Zelda proved to be even better than he had said! She worked with me on my singing technique (which was both rusty and inappropriate for the style in which I now perform). She covered a totally new breathing method, how to develop real power with my voice (both head and chest) and how to deliver a song in a convincing and entertaining way. As well as technique, she taught me how to develop my performance skills. She had to overcome my shyness and embarrassment and unlock my potential that she saw there. Zelda also worked with me to help me understand the business aspects of being a professional singer, how to set up my repertoire for the show that we created, and how to get gigs and how to charge people. I am pleased to call myself an entertainer now, and it's Zelda who I have to thank for my new life and the fun I enjoy as Scarlet Jewel entertainer. Five Stars - Julie B. Age 50. Zelda is very patient and knowledgeable. I felt relaxed and encouraged with her, even though I don't like to sing in front of people. I am working on that with Zelda's help. She is a great teacher! Five Stars - Donna S. Age 45. Zelda was my daughter's singing teacher in Sydney Australia before she moved to Nashville. We were very sad to see her go. She is a wonderful singing coach. She is very competent, professional, wise and patient. Zelda was able to identify all the areas my daughter needed to work on, especially confidence which many instructors don't deal with. We highly recommend her. Five Stars - Fiona P for Emma her daughter age 15. My daughter simply loves Miss Apryl's piano lessons. She has learnt so much in a such a short time all while having fun. She thinks of her piano lessons as play time with her friends :) Miss Apryl is patient with the kids..and really knows how to allow kids to have a good time and learn music at the same time..a very difficult balance to achieve!

I went to Trevor for guitar lessons for a few months. I had basic guitar knowledge but wanted to learn more about strum patterns and techniques. Trevor gave me plenty to practice- everything from scales to songs. I was learning exactly what I set out to do. He was very easy going and was more than willing to teach me whatever I was interested in. I was unable to continue lessons because of my own busy schedule but I would highly recommend Trevor to anyone looking for lessons!

When I first found Walsh on Thumbtrack, I had recently moved to Nashville. I had taken vocal lessons back home, and was happy with the progress, but it did not compare to the progress I have made with Walsh. As soon as I moved I went in search for vocal and guitar lessons to continue learning. Before I found Walsh for guitar lessons, I had already started vocal lessons with another coach. But after working with Walsh, I was amazed with his knowledge of music and his understanding of what it was that I was working towards. I switched to him for everything. I soon started going to him not only for guitar, but for vocal lessons, and songwriting tips. Each lesson I leave a better player, writer, and performer. Each session, and outside of the lesson he never fails to go the extra mile with material, support, and tips. I would not be where I am today if I hadn’t stumbled across his page. If you are as serious, and passionate about music as I am and are looking for a coach that is well rounded, knowledgeable, honest, friendly and hardworking you will be very pleased with Walsh! I am proud to call him my coach, and a friend.

Cy is simply an excellent teacher. He prioritizes teaching with music you like, emphasizing songs that will improve your whatever elements of your technique need work -- in my case it is all elements. As a result of Cy's intructuon I've gotten better in all phases of playing: rhythm, lead, and most importantly everything in between. He's also friendly and flexible, and a great musician with great taste.

Daniel is a very well rounded musician with the ability to teach like no other. Daniel and I work on many different things involving all things guitar. He has each and every session in a perfectly set routine which makes it easier for both of us. In the very short time I've had with him so far, I have already learned much more than I could have imagined. He makes everything easy and fun to learn. I look forward to spending many more sessions with him while trying to perfect my craft. My time with Daniel is always very well spent.

I took guitar lessons with Evan for over six months. He was extremely patient with me and I always had a good time. He taught me chords by picking songs that I would enjoy practicing and showing me simplified versions of them. I never felt ashamed or overwhelmed. I started with absolutely no experience and he gave me manageable lessons but I always felt like I was moving forward. If I hadn't moved out of the area, I would definitely still be taking lessons!
