My husband and I got married in September 2014 and started planning our wedding in January. We knew we wanted to have the wedding at our home but we wanted it to have all of the regular things a wedding has: full dinner, dancing, full bar, dj, etc so I knew hiring a Wedding Planner would help things run a lot more smoothly. I am kind of a control freak and I really wanted to plan most everything myself, so I really just needed a day of coordinator. I found Sharon Peoples off of Thumbtack after searching through countless other coordinators websites and even a couple over-the-phone and in person interviews. Sharon blew us away the day we met her. She came to our home for the meeting and immediately began taking notes and giving us ideas. Planning a wedding at your home is a pretty daunting task, or at least it was for us since we had just moved in a few months prior and we had a lot of work we wanted to do. Being January, all of our plants and grass were pretty much dead (or looked that way) but Sharon didn't flinch a bit when we told her we envisioned getting married in our backyard. She gave us a ton of information and ideas before we ever signed the contract and then she went over all of the details over what her packages included. She recommended we go with her Lady in Waiting package which is essentially a day-of coordinator package like we were looking for. However Sharon provided WAY more help which began immediately for us. She recommended vendors and exchanged innumberable emails with us leading up to the big day. She even met with a vendor for me when I was unable, and took over all of our vendors the month prior to the wedding. A few weeks before the big day she came again to our home to see how everything was coming along and go over the timeline with us. She again made lots of notes and recommendations on how to get things to run smoothly and she really listened to us as far as what kind of feel we were going for. We really didn't want things to seem too planned or scheduled. We wanted everything to just flow naturally while still adhering as close as possible to a timeline. The day of the wedding Sharon and her assistant (part of her business includes training other event planners) arrived on time. Her assistant's help is included in the original cost and they were BOTH amazing! Sharon immediately began seeing to everything that needed to be set up all while explaining to her assistant what the plan was and how we wanted everything set up. Sharon was an extremely professional and dependable coordinator who went out of her way to make our wedding run flawlessly! I was truly amazed that there were no hiccups during our wedding, and that everything just seem to happen so effortlessly! I would encourage anyone planning a wedding to hire Event Planners of Houston to help out EVEN if you are planning on keeping it simple or doing most everything your self. I really couldn't put a price on how nice it was for my husband, our families and I to just be able to relax the day of the wedding and not worry about what time it was or what should be happening next. Hiring Sharon was by far the BEST decision we made in planning our wedding and we are already discussing hiring her for future parties or events that we might have in the future.
Absolutely loved the owner Vernetta & her staff. My wedding was absolutely beautiful. On that day, I didn't have a care in the world! Vernetta took care of every detail. Vernetta was cery responsive to my fiancé and I questions and concerns about the venue and the expenses. The food, the decorations, the centerpieces were all memorable for myself and my guests. Havilah did a fantastic job with our flowers for our wedding ceremony and reception. She is reasonable and professional. She kept me informed on details and always made sure I was satisfied. THEY SHOWED UP WITH PLENTY OF TIME TO SET UP AND ALL THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT; FROM FANCY LIGHTS, MULTI MIC'S, TO AN AWESOME SOUND SYSTEM!!! EVERYONE THAT SHARED OUR SPECIAL DAY HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE FABULOUS TIME THEY HAD AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION!!! IT'S AMAZING TO WATCH THIS MAN DO WHAT COME SO NATURAL TO HIM!! Jenn Medina and her husband exceeded our expectations. She is so talented and will do anything to make your pictures meet all your expectations. They interacted with my wedding guests and took so many pictures of everyone! I have to say I had a little anxiety attack while taking pictures by my cake and she was very patient and did everything possible to keep me calm and get the pictures I wanted. I would most definitely recommend her to anyone.
I worked directly with Jayda and she was absolutely wonderful. She has a sweet demeanor, was very patient (and I can be hard to deal with) and she completely understood my vision and made it come to life!! The detail and quality that went into it was awesome and I had tons of compliments from my guests. Best birthday party ever!! What can I say? I just loved her! We choose the partial package since we had already secured our venue at a winery outside of Houston. Lisa has a bubbly personality & got the job done with a few laughs along the way. The production that goes into getting married really had me stressing & I knew there was no way I had time to handle all the important details involved. I hired her using Thumbtack & never regretted the decision! She was attentive, funny, sweet & tough when I needed it. She was exactly what I was looking for & we were so pleased with the end results. A few of my wedding guests even made a comment about 'how on it' she & her team was. She found our florist & our wedding cake designer which were PERFECT for us - couldn't have asked for better!!! Our ceremony was small (50 people) & the reception had to be moved inside due to weather, but that didn't seem to matter. Everyone had a great time & was glad they came! So glad since that was our overall goal -a celebration of our day. I would definitely use her if I had to do it all again :)

We initially wanted to hire Moon as a caterer for our wedding, but when we met for our first tasting, it was obvious that she did so much more. She was so organized and seemed to understand our vision for the wedding, so we entrusted her with doing everything from the table settings to the linens to the lighting. And, of course, the food. We held the reception in a 1920s fire station, and Moon created styling that was totally beautiful and matched the prohibition/vintage theme. When I was clueless at our meetings, she was full of ideas and helped me to brainstorm. She was very cognizant of our budget, and she asked for approval any time she considered making a purchase that we hadn't talked about. Our ceremony was fairly traditional in a church, and she honored our wishes to keep it really simple. She had lots of creative ideas, and she helped us to achieve the semi-homemade wedding we had in mind. She even made the bouquets and other floral arrangements all by herself after the florist fell through, and they were gorgeous. Moon was great at coordinating with the other people involved in the wedding (band, baker, venue) and was always professional. I knew that if I asked her to communicate with someone else for me in the planning, she would be an excellent representative. Her staff was equally professional, and guests even commented on the friendliness of her bartenders and waitstaff. And finally, the FOOD. The food was just delicious. Moon does amazing food with south Asian flair (we had chicken tikka wraps), but she also does regular-old-American comfort food (we also had amazing macaroni and cheese "balls" that she invented). Our food was kind of an eclectic mix, and she was very effective at helping us decide what missing pieces we had and making sure we had enough to feed everyone. I would recommend Moon and Momo Catering to anyone. She made the wedding planning process incredibly easy for me, which is more than any bride can hope for. Her knowledge and creativity are extensive, and her pricing is very reasonable. She will plan a beautiful event for you.
Ernestine Adams and EnS Event Coordinating are fantastic event planners. I hired EnS to coordinate my 50th birthday party. She was very thorough at our initial planning meeting and was truly concerned about understanding what I wanted the event to look and feel like. During the entire process she stayed on top of her planning timeline and was prompt to return my calls if I had questions. She and her team exceeded all of expectations! The decorations she made for the tables were beautiful and the event was everything I wanted and more. Thanks Ernestine for taking the stress out of the planning process and making my birthday dinner an event I'll always remember.

I attended Olivia's wedding in Cape Town not long ago. Although the wedding was in late november, planning started almost a year in advance. Every detail was meticulously though of and planned for. In an effort to accommodate the guests arrangements were made with three different hotels in and around Cape Town. Events were scheduled everyday of the week leading up to the wedding, from dinners, to nightly activities, to tours, and more. The wedding reception was held at a charming little vinyard just outside of Cape Town. There were elegant floral arrangements, catering crews tending to the guests with refreshments and delectable horderves, and a talented band playing ethnic and local music. The reception hall was beautifully decorated, the tables were artistically garnished, and every guest received a delightful little gift set. The attention to detail was impressive and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable weddings I have ever attended.
Shannen Tune is one of the easiest people to work with, he was understanding and accommodating at all times. Shannen provided a liquid nitrogen ice cream (and brownie) station for my wedding reception and it was a big hit! I highly recommend him to anyone & everyone for their events.
Kate helped me plan my wedding and was wonderful. My wedding had 300 guests and Kate was on point with everything she helped me with. She was very thorough, organized, and kept me on track with details. She did everything from helping me set up a budget, to looking over my registry, to helping me paint table numbers for the reception. Whatever I needed help with, she was an expert with advice and ideas. Also, in a time with lots of emotions, she was a grounded source with realistic, reasonable, and straight forward answers and solutions... which I truly appreciated. I contacted Keishawna (IYC Creations) initially to be a day of wedding planner. As we spoke, it became obvious I needed much more than one day of help. Keishawna worked closely with us from the beginning of January 2013 through our wedding on March 9, 2013. My only regret is that I didnt contact her the day I became engaged (oh, the stress I could have avoided). She performed so many duties, but a few that really showed off her talent and expertise were: helping us narrow down reception centerpieces and then designing gorgeous centerpieces for the tables, meeting with me at the venues to assure that she understood exactly what I envisioned for my day, responding to me extremely promptly when I contacted her, interfaced with vendors to make sure they were aware of timelines/expectations, located quality vendors that I had not hired yet, efficiently ran wedding rehearsal, decorated reception venue beautifully, kept actual ceremony on schedule, kept reception running smoothly by overseeing waitstaff, DJ, photographer, and guest issues. Keishawana and her team did all of this and a TON more with smiles on their faces and an incredible eye for details you would never think of but are oh so important. She took time to get to know my fiancé and me, so we truly felt she had an invested interest in our wedding day and marriage. As she works with you, you quickly see that placing your special day in her hands is the best decision youve made since saying Yes to your fiancé!!!
