Introduction
Challenge yourself to learn guitar, piano, drums, voice. Whether you're just starting off or want to become a blues/jazz/rock aficionado, I'm here to help. My approach is to learn songs you enjoy in a way that fits your current skill level. We can focus on music theory, or work on techniques to help understand the building blocks of music in a fun way. The first 30-minute session is free. If you're located outside of Austin, we can meet online which is still a great option!

Josh is an excellent guitar instructor! He’s always available through text if you have any questions while you’re rehearsing. I’ve learned more from him than any other guitar instructor I’ve had. He’s hands-on, adaptable, and understands music so well.

Josh is amazing! I’ve been taking private lessons with him for several years now. I can confidently say that I feel comfortable navigating the guitar with help from Josh.
We’ve worked on songs ranging from the blues to modern rock and pop. We’ve spent time exploring the why behind the music such as how the chords are related, scales that we can use to solo over the song, as well as singing along with our playing.
I’m not the most confident singer, but Josh has been patient with me, and I’m hearing the progress we’re making in our weekly lessons.
I highly recommend working with Josh!

Josh was awesome in helping me learn basic guitar skills while also teaching me how to apply music theory. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the guitar and helped me develop a plan to reach my playing goals. Josh is really enthusiastic about music and makes you excited to learn more!

My kiddos love Josh! He is incredible with them and very creative and engaging with instruction. They have a blast and have grown so much musically! He has taught them so much while building their confidence in playing, recording, and performing in front of audiences. I highly recommend him!
