- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father is a yoga instructor, so I've been doing down dog and going upside down since my days crawling around in diapers! My passion for dance began after my mother took me to an Alvin Ailey performance at the age of 5. After the show, she enrolled me in ballet classes, and I danced almost every day until at the age of 22 I was told I needed surgery on both of my feet. I took a brief detour from dance after the surgery, landing a position in marketing at a large tech firm. After a few years in the corporate world (along with the help of yoga and Pilates), I regained my strength and was able to start dancing again. I now have a new found respect and love for movement and fitness, and it has fueled my career ever since. I currently teach yoga, barre, SUP fitness, ballet and hip hop dance classes to adults and children of all levels in and around Austin, TX. I believe that every person should hold tightly to their passions and stay close to the things that make them happy to be alive!
