Introduction: I am a jazz studies bass major at UNT. I teach electric and double bass privately. I am an instructor for hire at studios and summer camps. I specialize in jazz music. I'm very fond of Indie rock music, but I have worked with students interested in all styles. I teach aspiring bassist how to be professional musicians by teaching them music theory, ear training, technique and the history of music and art. If you want to learn about tone, walking bass lines, grooves, improvisation, sweeping, slap and pop, finger-style, two-hand tapping, arco and pizz, composition, reading music and the like, I will be able to help you master those skills.

I took lessons while in college with Travis for a few weeks and in that time he threw so much information at me so fast ranging from hand positions, warm-ups and downs, and theory; but it was so well portioned that nothing felt overwhelming. After those few weeks of lessons and working out the kinks, I went from fumbling around to keeping up with an established band. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to start taking lessons with him sooner. He is an excellent teacher and has an air about him that just elicits comfort and learning.

Free meet and greet: I will meet you at my home music studio for a free lesson. I can demonstrate my musical abilities, asses yours, we can get to know each other and determine if it is a good fit. :) $50 per 1 hour music lessons & $40 for a half an hour music lesson. I
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A meet and greet is very common, otherwise we can get right to assessing your musical goals and abilities and develop a personalized curriculum.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A music degree from a prestigious music university, and 5+ years of teaching and performance experience.
