I take webinars, classes and, like watch hairstyling videos online to keep up with the current trends.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We should have known this would be my career when my mother took a picture of me standing in her bathroom drawer at age 4 playing with all of her makeup. After doing my own hair and my friends hair in high school I decided when I graduated I would immediately go to beauty school. I just knew there was nothing in this world that I would enjoy doing more than making people feel beautiful.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Most stylists provide free consults. Call beforehand and make an appointment to just sit and talk to the stylist. It doesn't cost anything and you will get all the questions you have answered.
