Gary was great! I had a laundry list of items to complete - replacing numerous hose bibs/faucets, install dishwasher, install sediment filter on water line, and replace kitchen faucet and sink. Unlike some large branded companies that overcharge for replacing a faucet, etc, Gary charged me $150 to do all of the work above. He is very fair and provided honest opinions, even in cases where it meant he was missing out on a money making opportunity!

Blast & his team were awesome! He performed numerous jobs for me (tile/floor laminate installation, wall repair, painting, etc...) He continuously provided feedback & offered his expert opinion on several projects....which turned out fantastic. He had no problem deviating from what was initially agreed upon just to please his customer. You definitely won't go wrong choosing his services.

Geovanny is an absolute pro. We needed to get our plumbing installed and hook up our kitchen sink and disposal in a bit of a hurry. He made sure to get to us the same day we contacted him. He did an excellent job and was very informative and personable as he did the work. We would definitely hire him again for plumbing or any other general contract jobs for our house.

Mr. Sales and his team did an outstanding job. He responded almost immediately to my inquiry and worked with our schedule to fix our dryer as soon as possible. He explained the problem and gave me detailed advice to prevent further issues. While doing an amazing job, he was also able to out price all of his competitors. I will definitely use him again for any and all appliance repair and would recommend him to anyone needing repair work.

Robert is a knowledgeable and honest guy. He helped me out with my clothes washer issue, diagnosed it over the phone and saved me money by not having to pay for someone to come out for a service call. He immediately knew what the problem was based on my description, and was able to provide a rough estimate of the cost to repair which exceeded the value of the washer, so I will just buy a new one. Thank you for your honesty and being straight forward with the information Robert! I will definitely keep you in mind for future appliance repair needs.

Brandon responded quickly and communicated several times regarding his arrival. He was honest and went above and beyond to fix a broken kitchen faucet. He addressed other things that neeeded addressing and promised to come back and install a new faucet at a reduced price. I'd recommend him for your next plumbing repair.

I would give them zero stars if possible. Super unethical... "Integrity" is a joke and sadly what I've come to expect from these companies. For more context, initial response to my project "Hello.God bless. No service fee, No trip fee. Because of the summer special ,we come out at no cost and give you a free diagnostic on your system ,even if you decide to not get a repair the same day. We find the problem, and explain the problem and cost to repair or replace, then you decide from there." When I follow up, I receive the following, "I can put you on schedule. It will be $19.99 summer special to come over and run a diagnostic". So went from free to $20. When I highlight to them his initial response, he responds with "If you get the problem resolved the same day it will be a free diagnostic. We will bypass it" even though his first response stated "Free diagnostic on your system ,even if you decide to not get a repair the same day. " What a joke. This is even before any work has been done, so I can't even imagine what they will try to pool once they win the project.

Jesse came over for the estimate within hours of my request. He looked at our dryer and confirmed our theory that the motherboard was dead. He quoted a price for parts and installation that was the same as what we had seen the part itself quoted for online so we of course chose to go with his professional installation. He was able to get the part within 3 days (very important when you're without a dryer) and installed it quickly for us. The dryer is back up and running. I will definitely be selecting Kingo for my future appliance repair needs.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
