I will say that this is the most unique appliance repair situation i have ever had. I have a very old Lady Kenmore dryer. It stopped working and i called several repair company and went with this one. He showed up and was friendly and after checking out the dryer said that the part that shuts off the dryer for getting too hot blew and needed to replace it. Said that he needed to order the part and required prepayment. Refused my Amex because he said that they won't release the money and it creates problems - Not sure i buy what he said. When i said, i don't know you, how do i know that you will ever return and he asked - Have you seen my reviews. I should have went with my gut and ended it there. That is not the typical response I get from a business. He comes back and put the part on and says that it is still not working and it is another part and he is not sure i want to put this kind of money into this old dryer. He orders a used part on ebay because he says that they don't make the part any longer and says that he will not charge me. Says that he will not charge me until his last visit where he gets the dryer working. The last part is where it became very problematic for me. I could not get a day or time window for him to return. He just shows up unannounced to put the part in - Who does that! He puts the second part on and says that it's still not working and does not know what is wrong. Decides that he would end the job and Asked me if it was ok if I get for the parts and he just charge me for the service call fees. I am so frustrated at this point that I just wanted him to move on so i could move on. To work on the dryer he had to remove it from the shelf it sits on above the washer. He asked me if I wanted him to put it back - it is literally sitting in the middle of the floor blocking the doorway of a condo bathroom - Of course. He leaves it in pieces. The top and back are in my bedroom, screws he initially gave me are in a zip lock back in the living room and the knob in the vanity area and random screws on the bathroom floor with no idea where they go. I am just not sure he ever knew what he was doing. I could hear him on the call with a woman i think was his wife talking him through things on the second visit. It made me wonder if the wife is the real appliance expert. Not a good experience! I am leaving out a lot of details that i could add but i am trying to be objective.
