I've been through so many bad contractor experiences- it was really hard for me to start this project, with what I consider a lot of money at stake, and what it costs when you get a bad contractor. The cost in dollars, materials, aggravation, time, mess and stupid stuff you just learn to live with is usually the inevitable when you decide to hire out. I'm so pleased to say Mike set a new bar for exceptional! From the emails we shared before the in-person estimate to the final dust pan of clean up in the garbage, Mike exceeded all expectations. He knows installation from the perspective of a craftsman. It's not about just slapping it in there and covering the details with quarter round, extra grout, glue or shortcuts. Every detail is attended to and addressed. It is given the exact consideration as if it were to be installed in his house. He gave me the freedom of picking the materials, but gauged it against his resources. He gave me the confidence that I got a good material at a good price. It allowed me to flex my budget and spend the money where it counted- in the install. Anyone can put laminate and tile in, but very few can do it right. Right as in pay for it one time- not the second and third do-overs. When it came to the hidden costs of projects (not knowing WHAT is under that floor you have), he was fair and gave options. He does respect your budget. He's not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but he is the best outcome for your money. Everything is in writing and upfront. You will not have different people in and out of the project. The other big positive is that your project is the most important project. You are not postponed to finish up or start another project. This means the timeline- is the timeline. He (and his family) has been doing this long enough to accurately gauge how long things take, even with little stuff that comes up. I had some dips in my concrete that needed to be fixed, but they were fixed and still completed given the extra work. He will communicate before, during and after the project, stick to timelines and respect your house. He is cognizant that you are still there during the day or after work. You will be part of the process, but not responsible for reminding him of the little things. I waited almost 15 years to remove and replace the flooring in my house, to not only get the most of what was in there, but the dread of knowing this was not something I could do myself and I would need to bring someone in. It was worth the wait to have an entire house of new floors, laminate and tile. I just can't say enough about Mike's professionalism and craftsmanship. Although I've gotten all my flooring needs fixed, I'm really excited to be able to pass his name out to friends and family. I'm pleased to post a review for him and will be enjoying my new floors for many years to come.
This was a multi-project event. Over 200' of cedar fencing with 12' drive and a walk gate, and a 10' x 20' color impregnated patio and walkways with a textured surface imprint. I received numerous quotes, and Ascot Fence was right in the middle of them all, and the best overall when valid recommendations they provided for footings were implemented, and the fact they included the permit cost and did the legwork for Fort Worth permitting. I chose to finish the patio cover myself, for which the permit is valid for concrete and cover, to be completed within 6 months. The other contractors providing quotes never asked about my plans for a cover, which requires additional footings beneath the slab, not just a slab. Had I gone with another contractor I seriously considered first, I would have had a nice patio but not met the requirements for the cover. I would then have had to rip it out and start over. Total cost involved made Ascot the best all around deal! There were long weather delays and a couple of hiccups along the way caused by concrete suppliers, which were resolved by Andre. Have received numerous walk-by/drive-by compliments on the appearance of the fence, and the patio looks fine also (not exposed for walk-by comments). One neighbor asked if I won the lotto, or something! I will stain the fence myself once given a chance to dry properly, and it should look even better. The crews worked fast and seemed to know their assigned duties, so actual work time was only 2-2 1/2 days, total, spread over 2 weeks. I would hire Ascot Fence again, and will in the future for the back 190' of fence (assuming prices are still in the ballpark).
From start to finish this has been the best contractor experience I have had in years. Gerardo from LG Concrete was the first to respond to my thumbtack request. He was on time and took his time explaining the job and what was required. We negotiated a fair price and he started and completed the job the next day. I had an 8'x10' concrete slab for a shed I purchased and extended my patio from half of the garage to the end of the garage. They took great care not to get concrete on my house and plastic the house up to four feet resulting in no concrete getting on my house. They thoroughly cleaned the area after they were done. I am completely satisfied with the work LG Concrete and I highly recommend them for jobs big and small. I have been dissatisfied with Angie's List and Home Advisors with missed deadlines and work that had to be redone. Because of Gerardo and LG Concrete I will come to Thumbtack for my house projects.
Hired James to install tile in a utility room closet and do touch ups on wall paint and trim in preparation for putting our home on the market. James responded very quickly and was able to give me a reasonable quote and complete the job very timely. He did an awesome job on the tile and paint and did a great job cleaning up. Results were outstanding. Highly recommend EZ home repairs.
You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer young man in the lawn care business. The grass was between 12"-15" on a very large lot with lots of trees. Hugo and his team cut it efficiently and quickly, trimmed around all trees, and used a leaf blower to clean off all deck and concrete areas. Hugo called the day before to let us know when he was coming, and we are so glad that we used his landscaping service. Exceptional job!
We had our small concrete patio extended and covered in flagstone by Marcelo and his crew. All work was completed in a timely manner, Marcelo kept us updated with photos when we were not home, he was always quick to respond with any questions we had and our patio looks beautiful! We can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can sit out on it and enjoy it! We are very happy that we chose Waterfalls Land Care to do the work and would highly recommend them!
Gino came out and did a bid to repair a parking lot for me. The first time the material did not set right but he jumped right back on it and corrected the issues. The parking lot was in very poor shape but he managed to save our budget and make it look acceptable. He continues to warranty any defects or issues that arise. Will use him in the future for other concrete repairs.
General handy man jobs for commercial building. Gentlemen very professional and knowledge. Communicated progress he made each day.
Adrian was on time and professional. He was thorough in his quote and explained the process and what to expect in detail. He was able to start the work the following day and it was complete that afternoon! We are happy with the results and enjoyed working with Adrian. I would definitely recommend him and his team if you’re looking for concrete solutions. He also does staining and stamping i believe, but we didn’t go that route. Thank you!
I hired Paul to work on a small patio project! He made me feel comfortable with explaining my project in detail and gave us peace of mind to which was a big plus for me and my husband. We was going with the cheapest estimate but paul showed us in detail how much the concrete and labor would cost any company and we would have made a big mistake and paul help save us money that we would have thrown away Because we like the way he does biz we decided to extend our driveway as well with paul. I would hire Complete concrete again easily, family biz with the customer in mind and the least I can do was give him a great reveiw thx paul we love the work and your co.
Had concrete and crushed granite done. Did not see weed barrier and the granite was not compacted evenly. The ground completely uneven. Concrete edges did not smoothen out. Only + is he is cheap. After work does not respond at all.
Great job and very reasonable!!! Had the job done in one day and we are so pleased! We will definitely use him again in the future and would recommend him to anyone needing concrete work done.
Mt Olive concrete review Project: Install Concrete Patio FINALLY a company that treats the customer right! The foreman was VERY professional and explained to us the exact process he would be following to complete our patio. They demolished our old patio concrete floor and prepared the area for the new floor on the first day! During this work, the foreman had his crew pick up any debris (old concrete, rebar, etc) as they worked, ensuring a clean and safe environment. On day two, the concrete truck arrived 11:00 a.m. (the exact time the foreman told me it would arrive), and my new concrete floor was poured, leveled, and completed by 3:30 p.m. The only issue that I have with Mt. Olive Concrete is their website. A Five Star rating is the highest rating I can give regarding Mt. Olive's professionalism and work ethic for my project. It should be raised to 10 stars. Thank you Mt. Olive, for exceeding my expectations. I now know a professional concrete company I can trust and use as a reference for my family and friends.
I’ve been looking for a company to complete a project to expand my back porch for a while, but wasn’t thrilled with the prices or timelines I received. I decided to give one more shot before I settled - and I’m really glad I did! Joe from Silver Fern responded back almost immediately and quoted me a price and timeline far better than anything else I had at that time. I was was a little skeptical so checked their website and their worked looked great so I gave them a shot. All communication I had with them was very professional and prompt, and were very easy to work with. They finished the work at the promised time for the quoted price, and even made modifications requested with no problem. Everything is done, and my porch looks great! I will definitely use these guys again if I have any other concrete projects, and highly recommend them.
Amvic-US did a great job! Their crew was very knowledgeable about the codes for handicap ramps, and they did a superior job finishing the concrete. Norman told me upfront when they would start and finish, and he made it happen. I'm a G.C. ,so I look forward to doing more work with Amvic-US on future projects.
