I just moved on 07/08/17 and there were 3 guys that came to move me and they were so professional and friendly. When I met them I could tell that it was going to be a very good experience. They joked with each other and with me and at the same time did not stop working. Not once did they stop to goof off and waste time. They got the job done. I know moving can be a nightmare choosing the right moving company but whenever I move I will always choose this company. I had the opportunity to use U-Move-Free but my neighbor where I was living gave this company such high remarks I decided to use them. I wanted the move to be a great experience and it was. It was pushing a 100 degrees outside and not once did they show any signs of tiredness or stop to say I need to sit down and take a break. When they did stop for about 3 minutes you could not tell. They moved me in the time I asked and they even finished a few minutes early. Again I must say that the first impressions were the best because they met us with a smile and never stopped smiling. I felt like I have been knowing them for a long time. I challenge you to give them a try. I stay on the second floor and I moved from the second floor and you would have thought these guys moved me to the first floor. They made it look so easy but know moving is not an easy job. They wrapped items to make sure they were secure and even with taking the time wrapping they still made good time. These guys worked like they owned the company. Fred is the one they picked on because he was the rookie of the bunch but you could not tell because he was moving just as fast as the other 2. They worked well as a team. I can go one and on but I must whenever I find a great business that is getting it right they need to be praised. Great job Cordobe Solutions, LLC. Please never change your great service and professionalism that you have going. You will be prosperous for a long time. Happy Customer

The entire process went smoothly and quickly. From calling for a quote to moving day, the whole journey was amazing. I moved from Denton to Dallas. Second story apartment to another second story apartment. The movers called me an hour before they arrived, moved furniture quickly and arrived to the new location quickly and unloaded. They made moving easy!!

Be warned. Think twice before booking with this company or else pray that nothing goes wrong. Hired this company for a local move on June 10th, the moving crew showed up on time and were quick in unloading and loading. However, several pieces of appliances were damaged during the move. It was pointed out to the moving crew and I was told that the owner will be in contact with me. No calls was received. I contacted the owner and I was told to provide more information and pictures. No updates whatsoever after that. Contacted them again and was told to provide the same information again. This goes on for several weeks until I realized that this company has no intention to do the right thing. I sent them another message today asking for partial refund to cover the damages caused but my message was ignored. I understand accidents happen but this company claims that they are fully insured and bonded, it should not be so difficult to file a claim. It will not end here. Pictures attached is just one part of the damage.

We hired this company for 2 days......pack and move. Received a call from Red Carpet Moving the day before to confirm dates/times. Both crews showed up on time. They worked quickly and efficiently, and were very respectful of our belongings. Crew leaders Erica/packing and Luis/moving were easy to communicate with and responsive to our concerns. We received follow-up calls after each service day re: if we were satisfied. The pack/move went without a hitch! Nothing was damaged. We highly recommend Red Carpet Moving!

Hiring Jackye for the cleaning house we were moving in was a worth of money. Her bid was little higher than other cleaning service but I hired her since she had great reviews and it was the right choice. She was very patient also on my change of schedule(twice) due to the painting of the house. My house is now sparkly clean! Thank you Jackye!

I want to recommend Dallas moving to anyone who has to move out of state. They moved me from Lewisville TX to Los Angeles CA. The process of setting up the move was friendly and reassuring, Olivia was patient and went over all the information I needed to feel comfortable. The crew on move day was on time within the window of arrival Olivia set up for me. They were all dressed in blue uniforms and looked very professional. They wrapped up my stuff as if I was moving super expensive furniture (even though it's not) I feel like the crew that came really went above and beyond to make me happy with the service. It's not everyday you really feel like you get your money's worth and moving is not cheap but their service is definitely worth the cost. The truck was loaded really carefully. They were very equipped with tools to break down the bed and tables. Very highly recommended. Thank you for a great job!

Eddie and Tanner were friendly, funny, efficient, professional - amazing. They made moving as pleasant and easy as moving can be. They didn't mind that my move took two trips to and from the old place and new place. Would hire again, and probably would marry either of them!

I used Youngstars moving to help me pack up and move my elderly aunt's belongings into a storage facility. I was under pressure to accomplish this in a specific window of time. Alex and Eddy showed up on time introduced themselves and took the time to discuss the move. I explained that Ineeded the contents separated so that certain items could be accessed from the storage facility . They proformed above my highest expectations. They were professional and conscientious with boxes that where family treasures. We accomplished the entire move in a matter of hours, nothing was damaged and the price was exactly what was given to me before the job. I would use them again and recommend them to all my friends.

Mona Lisa moving is one of the best moving company I ever hired. They did however qouted me wrong but quite honestly they charged me a very reasonable price. I do agree they qouted me quite low for the job it took to move my stuff at first so it was very fair they charged me more later. They care about my furniture very much. I have a 5000$+ bed and dresser which they took the time and care to move it. They wrapped it good and even took it apart and assemble it for me. Very nice people and easy to work with. Moving is big stress and headaches. Save yourself the trouble and hire the professional Mona Lisa moving company. You will not be dissapointed. My furniture arrived looking like they did before. Thanks again Mona Lisa! Oh and they come with a spanking new huge moving truck. You know how most moving company come in a bang up sqeeking truck? Not them! Will use them again if I ever need to move anything.

They responded by phone quickly, provided a quote and were easy to contact. The only issue was that they were delayed both in pickup and delivery by truck issues. We had flexibility so it did not create any time issues on our part.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

  • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
  • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
  • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
  • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
  • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.
