Juan helped us with installation of ceiling fan and blinds, assembly of furniture (crib, kids' desk and chairs) and removal of old items from the attic. He was most professional in his service -- prompt and responsive prior to service, complete the job as promised and keep to the agreed price. He also takes a lot of care in his furniture assembly, which we appreciate.
Lonestar cleaned my chimney & dryer duct. He did an excellent job, explained what he found & what was done. He had to make some adjustments to get dryer duct cleaned properly and did it without hesitation. GREAT JOB! We were very pleased.
Blast is extremely professional and dedicated in his line of work. the entire job executed very professionally which includes the re modelling the attic and other small jobs all over the residence and the clean up afterwards. Never looked at the watch the entire time he was busy with work. I am very very happy to hire him for the job and will continue to do the same for future. I wish him well in his endeavors.
I would like to say that I had the pleasure to allow Anderson to complete my requested job. He is a very knowledgable electrician and is very efficient in the way the work that he does. I had ventilation fans, high ceiling work, and minor tile repair done. He is just absolutely fantastic and I will use him again the near future without question. He his highly recommended.
He did a great job installing my attic door.
Contractor did a good roof job.
David was prompt and did a fantastic job. He was very quick and kept me in the loop on everything. He's very efficient and reliable and I would highly recommend him for electrical and plumbing work.
Rios Home Exteriors was the only company to give my an estimate without an appointment. I received several bids and Rios was several thousands less. They threw in free ridge vent and new roof vents. They also installed my attic fan for free. in addition, they put in new vent pipes and painted them to match the roof. They used Certain Teed 30 year shingles. A lot of the roofs in our neighborhood have been replaced, and I have the best looking one. I highly recommend Rios Home Exteriors.
I have hired several contractors over the past 15+ years to complete various projects in my homes. August is a standout among this group due to his strong knowledge of home construction best practices and finding effective solutions the problems I was facing. I hired August to repair a severe water intrusion problem in my attic as well as repairing the drywall in my ceilings in several rooms. His attention to detail and his workmanship were impressive. And I greatly appreciated how he worked with care inside my home, ensuring he minimized any clutter and debris, covering the furniture and kitchen counters, and cleaning the hardwood floors when he was done working. I would highly recommend August to others and will definitely call on him for any future projects I might have. Stephen H.
John and his team installed heavy duty attic stairs in my garage. He quoted a fair price and the job was scheduled and completed in a timely manner. I plan to hire him again for another project.
I contacted Chris, along with several other contractors, about finishing unused attic space into a "man cave". Chris got back to me in a timely fashion, and with a very reasonable quote, so I selected him. He did an outstanding job, despite some challenges (the space was never intended to be finished off). He had to do some creative thinking in order to make the room look "finished". He came up with several good ideas, and he implemented them meticulously. When he finished, he and Lisa cleaned up area very nicely. Chris is friendly, courteous, smart, meticulous about his work, and he's extremely reliable. I would hire him again for any project, large or small. The finished product came out great!
Rachelle & her husband Richard were nothing short of excellent! They were very quick in responding to our request and completed the jobs we asked (Installation of new attic entrance with stairs, replace ceiling fan, install door peep hole & install 2 garage ceiling shelves) at a MORE than fair price and it a very timely manner! My wife and I were extremely happy with them and if we have any other projects in the future they would be the first one we would call! Thanks again!
We had recessed lighting installed in our family room and storage shelves built in the attic. Couldn't be happier with workmanship and professionalism.
Houston drywall did a great job. I got a quick quote and they were ready to start soon. They completed the whole job in one day. They installed an extra attic door in my garage and put decking in all about garage to add a lot of storage. I would recommend them to friends or family.
If I could give Rick and his crew at Finishes Unlimited six stars instead of five I would. He's truly a professional, knowledgeable, on time, aims to please and his attention to detail is outstanding. Hire him. Let me tell you about the work he did for me. I inherited a house built in the 70's. Due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up living in this fixer upper nightmare and there's only so much I can do myself. There were cracks every where (ceiling, walls, fireplace) due to foundation problems I had repaired a few years back. I had mold growing on my vaulted ceiling in my loft game room and around vents in the den/loft from years of condensation dripping. I had practically no insulation in the attic from years of squirrels frolicking up there and my ac duct work had never been changed since the 70's (the air coming out of it was not too "fresh" - it also had a bit of squirrel damage too). I also had really dark paneling in the den I wanted removed (as it turned out there was mold behind it too, gag). All of it needed to be taken care of. Previously, I had a different contractor remodel/paint two baths and one spare room and it was a disaster - paint peeling from the trim work, caulking was used instead of mud to fill cracks so it looked worse, etc. - and I had reviewed this with Rick to insure the same thing wouldn't happen. Well Rick and crew did a great job and finished almost on time. The delay was partly due to me adding a few things to the scope of work like fixing grout in my kitchen/entry, caulking around the garage, hanging new blinds (omg the harvest gold ones HAD to go), changing all the door knobs in the house, hanging new curtain rods, adjusting my garage door so it'll stay open, yadda yadda. Btw, Rick didn't even complain when he had to remove the billion staples (I exaggerate not) left by the foundation repair guys when they had hung plastic on my walls. And if I wasn't satisfied with a particular patch he would fix it till I was satisfied. At the end, since I had added scope of work, I was over the original estimate which I expected, but he was VERY fair. He only charged me materials (he had receipts) and a little bit for labor. I will definitely hire him again - I have windows to replace, exterior brickwork that needs repair, the list is endless.
Not sure why the previous negative comment left, but my experience with this company was wonderful. I want to start by saying that I don't write reviews, but because I am very pleased with the service Mr. Huerta provided, I had to stop and express it. Mr. Huerta came to mount my tv in my living room, and he did it just as I ask and he even suggested a better way and I love the results. He really did go above and beyond(crawling through a small attic) to get it done. I was glad Mr. Huerta was kind enough to work around my schedule and was on time. Thanks again Mr. Huerta, I will recommend you to family and friends.
This was the absolute best experience I have ever had with a home repair contractor. I had them quote on replacing a water heater in my upstairs attic. I went with this quote because they quoted on an A O Smith brand water heater, which I know is made in the USA and because they offered a 3 year warranty on their labor. I asked for a bid Sunday night and received 4 quotes within minutes. Lightning Companies was able to do the work the next day and showed up on time ready to work. They were very careful to cover my carpet and completed the job within 2-3 hours. They supplied all the new parts necessary to install a water heater for the price they quoted and even turned my water heater a quarter turn to put the controls in a better location for me to do routine draining, etc. They left the work site clean and gave me all the papers that came with the water heater. I am extremely satisfied with this whole experience and will call this company in the future because they also do other types of work and repairs. I will definitely recommend this company and, in fact, have already told my younger brother about them as he is looking to have his water heater replaced.
I have used Steve Johnson as a contractor several times. In each case, I was very pleased with the results. In 2006, I chose Steve to be the supervisory contractor for a kitchen/sunroom. This project involved excavation, framing, plumbing, electrical, tile work, and coordinating with Arlington County for permits and inspections. I became aware that he is an excellent judge of the ability of subcontractors. He has high standards and knows how to get the best results from the individuals working for him. Several years later I asked Steve to completely refinish my basement. Unlike the first project, we found that quite a few of acceptable subcontractors were not available this time. Therefore, Steve did much of the carpentry, plumbing (added a beautiful new bathroom and wet bar), and electrical work himself. Even though it's a basement, in many respects it's the finest room in the house (except of course for the kitchen/sunroom). Finally, I asked Steve to restore a house previously occupied by my elderly parents. Unfortunately my parents had not taken very good care of it and it needed extensive renovations. This included removing a rotted back porch, completely gutting the mildewed basement walls and framing, demolishing existing kitchen and most of the bathroom, and taking out old cat infested attic insulation and replacing it. I still can't believe the way Steve transformed this house from a neighborhood eyesore to a little jewel rents for a premium price. For certain, if you use Steve, you won't be sorry. Let me know it you would like any before and after pictures.
