I let it set for several weeks but, with the holidays approaching, I contacted Mr. Whiz to check out the leak. When he arrived the disposal no longer leaked. He checked and tried multiple times to detect the leak. It did not leak. He explained the plumber's putty may have taken longer to dry than 24-48 hours and that was possibly why it leaked upon my installation. Since he was already at my house and did not spend more than 5 minutes on the disposal I asked him if he had time to change out the kitchen faucet. He said he did and began that task. Due to the age of the faucet one of the nuts was extremely rusted and he tried multiple ways to free it. Between his tools, my tools, and the two of us working together he was successful and changed out the faucet and installed the new one. I told him I appreciated the effort and would definitely recommend him to others and would call him the next time I needed a skilled handyman."See more

I was hoping to give a higher rating given that Richard was very professional and courteous, and seemed very knowledgeable. His rate was also excellent. However, he did show up hours late (11:30 am when he indicated 8:30-9). He was responding to texts and phone calls during this time but this was time I could have used to run errands instead of sitting waiting for him. He and his assistant did work very neatly once here, redoing the pipes underneath the bathroom sink and installing faucet and drain, and even cleaned out a very dirty ac drain pipe. At the end Richard also spent time giving me a quote on few other work items and pointing out how my connection from dishwasher wasn't hooked up properly. Why then the reason for only 3 stars? I ended up having a small leak under the sink and despite two texts and a phone/SMS message and a Thumbtack message over 3-4 days, I have received 0 replies or acknowledgement. Needless to say this doesn't give me confidence for hiring him for future work given the post-installation lack of service. Very disappointing as I thought I had finally found a reliable and reasonably priced plumber who did good work....
