Introduction: Since the 1960s, Jeffrey Harrington Homes has been building Houston area's custom homes. The company was originally founded by a Harvard graduate, William J. Harrington, who served as the 1970 president of the Greater Houston Builders' Association. As Harrington Homes, we were one of the original builders in Greatwood, Sugar Creek and Sweetwater, among southwest Houston's other communities. Since our inception, we have finished numerous homes, specializing in custom homes in the 2,500 to 12,000-square-foot range. Our typical projects range in cost from $300,000 to $2,000,000 and above. In 2005, Mark Jeffrey, a former professional Texas engineer, became majority owner, renaming the company Jeffrey Harrington Homes. As president, Mark focuses on establishing Jeffrey Harrington Homes as a premier builder of technically-advanced, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly custom homes. Mark is also a partner in Palladian Residential Construction, which has been building homes in San Antonio and Houston for the past six years. Since 2003, Palladian has completed close to 100 homes. Mark received in 2009 his certified green professional designation from the National Association of Home Builders. Jeffrey Harrington Homes commits to building individual custom homes with a high degree of participation from the customer in the construction and design process. We believe that today's custom homes must meet a higher standard compared to those of the recent past. Each home is a reflection of our design team's creativity and our client's vision. We are always evaluating new technologies to build superior homes. More and more, a major consideration is to build a home that will withstand easily hurricane-strength rain and wind. As an additional benefit, we find these technologies can also lead to much more energy-efficient homes and can lower insurance costs because of superior fire, mold and termite resistance. We also believe that our homes should be state of the art in the usage of technology for home automation, security, entertainment, internet connectivity, lighting, etc. We fully support the growing trend of environmentally friendly green building. In every project we do, various attributes of green building appear. However, we firmly believe that our customer's money is best spent in building the most structurally-sound, energy-efficient frame and envelope. Then, this design philosophy will better support technologies such as heat pumps, solar heating and power generation, wind generation, etc.
