Joe's been out twice to help me with my refrigerator and to install my washer and dryer. He's always on time, fair and honest. I wish I was handier around the house but I probably never will be with a guy like Joe out there. Thanks, Joe

The entire process was very seamless. Robert’s appliance provided a detailed breakdown of what was needed to repair the GE washer. Edger and his crew was prompt and continued to communicate from the initial service call to the repair service call. I was shown the new parts that were replaced and the old parts that were broken. After the repair was performed, Edger confirmed the washer was operating correctly by going though the different phases of the wash cycle. The prices were reasonable and as quoted. I would definitely hire them again.

Unfortunately he could not completely fix the problem because my washer is very Old & they do not make the part any more. It washes but I will have to watch that it doesn't over flow.again. He will be doing some electrical work for me next.

I had contacted robert through a friend that had previously used him for a refrigerator repair. We set up a date an time, he called as he was on his way, early I might add. He was very quick to determine the problem and gave me a full estimate, I asked him to do the repair. He works pretty fast, within 15 minutes my washer was working again, and I was happy to pay. Overall, I would definitely use him again.

I went through frustration and in need of someone good and not out to take advantage of someone, in need of a good repair Co. to service my washing machine. I saw the reviews on David Gonzales at David Appliance Repair & when my neighbor failed to come fix my washer's switch so the agitator would run, after promising me that he would. I decided to contact David Gonzales being all the terrific reviews I had read. I called him yesterday morning 5/20/15 abt. 11 am & by 1:30 pm he was here to help me. He has wonderful phone contact, he put the part in & then ran a load of wash for me, so I would see for myself, that he did indeed fixed my problem ! He told me when he came out, what the price would be. Very reasonable price, had it all fixed & done within 35-45 min. Very kind, along with his brother that came also. I highly recommend David Gonzales to anyone in need of appliance repair. I was so nervous I couldn't afford to have the work done & he was very reasonable , fast, reliable & NO svc. charge w/ work. He was on time as promised, & liked that he called me to let me know he was on his way. Very nice person & I would use his svc. again !! His experience sure showed.

Clothes washer was not draining. They came out next day and repairman, Luis, was superb. Price steep but then I'm not familiar with washing machine repair prices and any repair costs I think no one likes.

Guy was great. Washer was almost more money to fix than a new one and he told me. Could have recommended that and gotten more money but didn't. The prices he told me to repair were in keeping with my own research on the problem as well as the problem itself. Also gave me some tips on what not to buy. Couldn't be happier. Now if Lowe's would only deliver the damn matching. Sigh.

Jesse completely went out of his way in order to ensure that I would have the best experience possible considering the mess that the manufacturer had put me in. He personally handled the problem with them for me and then did a very meticulous job replacing our AC unit in the house. Very friendly and extremely professional. Pricing was also very competitive. They are passionate about their business and you can tell right away by the quality of their work. Very highly recommended.

Chris replied quickly to our request. He came out the same day and was able to determine the cause of our washer not working properly. The motor had ceased. He explained what the cost verses purchasing a new washer would be, he also advised us on the new type and name brand washer to purchase. Although he did not repair our washer, he diagnosed the issue and was helpful and professional while he was here. He also only charged the service call fee as promised, if no work was to be completed. Thank you Chris!

I was cooking breakfast the other day when our Whirlpool Retractable Downdraft System made a loud high pitched noise, and quit working. We cook all the time so we needed to get the downdraft fixed right away. So we called up Authorized Appliance Repair. We have used them a couple of times in the past, and we have always been happy with their service in the past. We scheduled a repair call for Saturday when we would both be home. My wife gets nervous when she has to be alone in the house with strangers. The repair tech Vince showed up and he was very friendly and seemed to know his stuff. He examined the downdraft and discovered that the blower motor had gone out. The part we needed was a little pricey, but the labor was very reasonable. We gave him the go ahead to order the parts, and we scheduled him to return on Thursday in the evening when we would be home. He replaced our Blower Motor and had us back in the kitchen in time for to cook dinner. Vince was a really nice guy, very professional, and the final bill was very fair. I would recommend this company to friends.

It was the middle of the hottest part of the fall in Katy Texas when the icemaker in our Whirlpool 25 Cu. Ft. French-Door Refrigerator decided to quit working. There is no way I can exist without an ice maker. So we called up Katy Appliance Repair and told them to send somebody out as soon as possible. They had a technician out the next day early. I was so surprised. He took a look at our ice maker, and before I knew it he had it back up in running. Apparently it had just gotten jammed up. He said these refrigerators do that sometime, and he even showed me what to do if it happens again. The whole visit was over in 20 minutes and the price was so reasonable. I felt like I needed to tip the repairman because the whole thing was so cheap. Great company they are fast, reliable, affordable, and convenient. That is why I recommend them to all of my friends.

Technician came to my home & was really prompt. He scheduled a time & was there at that time. He fixed my washer with no problem, told me there & then what the problem was and how much it was going to be. He waived my trip fee since I accepted the repair. He did an outstanding job. Very professional young man. I will definitely be calling him back if I ever need him again.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

          • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
          • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
          • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

          How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
