We rescued a 70-something pound fearful, wannabe-dominant, no manners, clown of yellow lab mix. ‘Harley’ was a bundle of unbridled energy and attitude who growled and snapped at me a few times. He also *played* way too rough with our other two mild mannered dogs. My husband and I knew we needed professional help for Harley and ourselves. Enter Dog University. Have you ever watched The Dog Whisperer? The trainer from Dog University who came to work with Harley and us instantly took the lead and communicated well with both dog and human. She is a ‘dog whisperer’ in her own right. Amazing! The teaching methods used have always been very positive and appropriate. The instructor helped us understand what Harley needed, how we were possibly giving mixed communications and helped us instill good, balanced, adaptable training methods to achieve what we wanted from Harley. After the first training session Harley was walking loose leash, turning on a dime, sitting when my husband or I stopped walking as well as really getting the hang of the ‘Down’ or ‘Lay Down’ command. To boot, our instructor had Harley sitting, focused on her for a short time while she dropped the leash and walked away. Harley stayed! (We continue to work on this as well as focus) As a FYI only, between sessions we have a bit of homework to do with Harley. This simply reinforces what we accomplished during session. (Homework for us = 5 minutes a couple of times a day. Piece of cake!) Harley is by no means the perfect dog. However Harley is no longer fearful, he no longer will growl or snap at me, he walks like a champ with no tugging and is increasing his focus. I wholeheartedly believe Harley is a *lot* happier than he likely has ever been. I qualify this by saying the verbal and non-verbal communication between instructor and Harley as well as each of us and Harley is becoming crystal clear to him. He knows what is expected almost all of the time. When he is not sure, Harley looks to either of us for further instruction and then follows through. I would like to speak regarding the instructor. She is extraordinarily well versed in 'dog' (& human) and is a clear, positive, understandable communicator. She has been very flexible in scheduling and a positive influence on my husband and I, Harley and the rest of our pack. Our times together have, without doubt, been Win-Win. I hope this instructor feels the same. Would we rehire Dog University? In a heartbeat. If you decide to hire from Dog University be prepared to be extremely happy with the results. Obviously my husband and I recommend Dog University highly!! Additionally, friends and family have noticed and made positive comments about Harley’s manners and attitude.
Kaci is amazing with dogs. She has been training dogs and teaching people how to properly handle their dogs for quite some time. Don't let her youthfulness fool you! She knows her stuff! Kaci has always had patience to make sure my young daughter understood what she was teaching her about her dog. My daughter even won an award for handling thanks to Kaci and her expertise! She shows compassion for all animals and is driven to continue to be the exceptional trainer that she already is.
We used Brian VanDePutte at Liberty Canine Ranch in August 2016 for modifying negative behavior in our dog. Our experience was very good. We had adopted a border collie cross from a shelter who had a couple of issues: 1) not coming when called, and 2) chasing cows (we live on a ranch-not good!). After 1½ years of my husband and I exhausting every idea we had to correct him, I ran across Brian's ad. I was certain that I would hear a long discourse on why my dog needed a full course of obedience training to be helped, but to the contrary, Brian said he could focus on just what needs correcting. After 1 week at LCR and a few months of following Brian's lessons for us at home, my Skeeter is a different dog...like a dream come true for me. Brian's techniques are very effective; he is a “natural” with dogs. I really think he knows how they think. He is flexible and will try to customize the dog training program to fit your needs, always very professional yet personable. We recommend LCR to owners who have dog training needs on any level - great or small. Longhorn M Cattle Company
I dropped my Dalmation ( Chief ) off at 14 weeks with Wheatland Dog Center for a 20 day training program. The owner Kayla kept me updated on his progress along the way, sending videos and pictures to show how well he was doing. When I picked Chief up, Kayla gave a demonstration of how she trained Chief and showed me how to work with him. It has been almost a month since I got my pup back and he is still doing great. I've had to contact Wheatland Dog Center a few times for helpful pointers along the way, Kayla was great with explaining ways I could resolve the issues that I had. I will definitely be sending any dogs I get to Wheatland Dog Center in future.
Best trainers I have ever worked with. Vast knowledge and experience. My dog was facing euthanasia due to behavior problems, and is now a happy, well rounded, member of our household. Thank you so much for saving Rolo!
My dog and I learned so much in our obedience class! Caren is a wonderful instructor and makes learning fun. Rachel is a fantastic groomer who does the BEST nails with her dremmel. Everyone is friendly and professional. I recommend them all the time.
Travis is awsome! He trained my German Shepherd and my Rottweiler. My Shepherd needed basic obedience training and she now hangs on my every word. My Rottweiler was strong willed and sometimes aggressive. He is now a very enjoyable part of our family. He obeys my every command, is calm and does not show a bit of aggression! Travis has a positive energy with the dogs and taught me how to have that same energy. I highly recommend that you have him train your dog too. He is the only dog trainer that I found that guarantees his training for the life of the dog. That should tell you something right there.
Lynne has helped us for two plus years with our dogs and is dependable, honest, caring, knowledgable and is now part of our family. Our dogs wait at the door for Lynne to arrive on their days to walk with her! She cares for them when we leave on vacation and is excellent!!
Dexter S. began training me in September 2015. I decided to get a trainer after hitting a huge plateau in my work out regime. Dexter and his training program was able to let me see results that I had never seen in my own workout routine or past. Dexter works me out and also educates me. He listens to what I wanted to do and creates programs to target my main focus as well as other body parts that support my goals. Dexter also keeps me current on diet tips and foods that fuel my overall goals. Dexter is not afraid to push and challenge me, and I definitely have seen improvement in my body and endurance. Overall, it has been an excellent experience!
