If I could give 6 stars I would. Working with Leslie was so easy! Usually the breakfast/lunch part of our events is the most time consuming and stressful, but for the first time, I wasn't freaking out. She was incredibly prompt with quotes, answered all my questions (no matter how stupid), and thought of everything before I even asked. I'm always nervous about catering since I've had some horror stories with incredibly late caterers. Not them! They arrived an hour early, prepped, and we had an excellent breakfast. My office is notorious for being incredibly picky when it comes to food, and all I heard around the event was how amazing the food was and how friendly and fantastic the chefs were. This was a first for us! I'm afraid they're going to see a lot of us in the future, and I can honestly say that one of the reasons my event went so smoothly is due to Fabulous Affairs.
Austin Event Studio (AES) did a wonderful job with my daughter's graduation party. As a busy mother of 4 and a full-time employee, I wanted my oldest daughter's graduation party to be special but there was just not enough time in the day to plan everything myself within the time period. AES listened to what I envisioned and worked with me to ensure that I was the decor for the venue looked exactly as planned and within my budget. Although AES is located in Austin and my event was in San Antonio, Barbara (the owner) is very friendly, was always quick to respond, professional and punctual. I would use AES for future events and I would recommend her services to others.
Twyla is a perfectionist so you will get exactly what you paid for and more! She goes the extra mile to take any event over the top. Her flowers are always fresh and of great quality and so are her ideas.
Shelley is the best! Shelley has been our designer/decorator/project manager for as long as I can remember. My business flips houses and does vacation rental properties, so Shelly helps us with picking out design finishes, stages houses to be sold, and completely furnishes houses for high-end upscale vacation rentals. Whether the goal is to go very high-end, or if you are looking for an expensive look on a two dollar budget, Shelly knows all of the best places to get great stuff at very expensive rates.
In our new home I wanted to use transitional styles: mingling mid-century modern, vintage farmhouse & contemporary styles… Not asking for much, huh? Also, wanted to mix some rough & natural textures on accessories with some sleek & some bling. Really thought no one could or would want to go with all that, but Hanniel John took time getting to know me. Almost like a Design Doctor, she got together a strategy for the design of a couple rooms first (respecting that I was not so sure it could all be done within my budget). At the final reveal Hanniel made me cry tears of joy. She did our central room (like a fancy family room) & the combo Living/Dining area on-budget (with just two small adjustments where I decided to go with higher quality accessories). There's no way to express in print how it feels when your home reflects your creative side, within your budget, and, simply makes you feel super happy to be home (& show it off too). Clearly, to Hanniel John, design is not just a business, but a calling she is gifted for. P. S. She has curated thousands of items in her own files, and knows quite a bit about antiques, which was really handy for my project.
Murphy Moon is a fantastic interior designer who happens to be strikingly good at couple's counseling. As new owners of a beautiful blank-slate home, my husband and I wanted to start the interior out right by coming up with a solid decorating plan. Unfortunately, with one of us favoring modern minimalism and the other preferring traditional with a touch of whimsy, we didn't get very far on our own. Enter Murphy Moon! From the very start, Murphy helped us to identify styles we both loved and new ways to create a space that's functional, comfortable, cool and lovely. When we were unable to find pieces we both liked or with the ideal measurements, she simply designed them herself and had them made! And the few times we couldn't seem to agree on something, Murphy always had an entirely different idea in her back pocket that was inevitably perfect. My favorite part about working with Murphy is that she approaches the project as a member of the team and inspires you to do the same. She doesn't try to take over or judge you or strong-arm you into anything. She listens to what you want, she helps you identify things you love and she works with you to create a space/a home/a plan that works. It sounds cliche, but she truly made our home a reflection of BOTH of us, only better. Add to that her obsession with detail; fluency in all ten zillion paint colors, wallpapers and fabrics; cheerful disposition; and ability to stick to a budget and I think you'll see why we truly can't recommend Murphy enough. (Not to mention the added benefit of letting her deal with stores/etc. who don't hold up their end of the bargain. She's such a sweetheart, until you cross her or her client. It's AWESOME.) We'd give her ten stars if we could.
Our darling little house had been on the market for a few months with no bites. I decided to give Elizabeth a try. I immediately liked her ideas and enthusiasm. She did everything she said she would ON TIME (which matters a lot to me). The place fabulous and she went back often to make sure things were spotless and ready for showing. She worked hand in hand with my realtor to make sure everything went smoothly with the decor. Two months later we closed the deal! I highly recommend her.
I spoke with Denise in November, 2016 in regards to planning my 50th Jubilee celebration. I explained what I wanted the festivities to include along with the color scheme. Kelli has a great "eye" for color and style and works well with your preferences, takes input, and is able to decorate a room or "renew" the look using much of what is already there and a very limited budget. She helped me with both my living room with fireplace and my bedroom and I am very happy with both.
I have been waiting 15 years to decorate my Master Bedroom. I was totally lost. I left it up to Megan to listen to what I needed and figure out the rest. I really asked her to read my mind- and SHE did it!! I am ecstatic with the results and I promise that I will never wait again! Already planning the playroom- in my head, of course. I decided to have a wedding of the day coordinator 3 months before my wedding when I started having nightmares about my wedding gone wrong. I found Michelle via thumbtack. I'm so lucky I chose the right one over so many listed in the internet. I just hope that I got her at the planning phase of my wedding so I wouldn't have a hard time researching & comparing for the best wedding vendors by myself. She has a very good list of the preferred wedding vendors. Michelle has such a pleasing personality & easy to work with. She's not pushy & acted upon on what I envisioned my wedding to be. She worked within my budget. She's very professional & was prompt with her email responses. On my wedding day she executed it perfectly! The Church ceremony was solemn. The reception was organized, romantic, & beautifully decorated. I was overflowing with happiness! It was so stress free for me & for my families! We all just enjoyed the special day. My mother & mother-in-law even said that she really did a wonderful job! She was just at the background & even attended to my guests' needs. Kudos to Michelle! Again, my heartfelt gratitude! I definitely recommend her for your special event!
Kristy was the event planner for my husband's 50th bday party..Everything was good!! I loved the decor. I just wished I was closer to her, because I stressed myself out because she lived in a whole different state than I. Also, I gave her a short time to work a miracle, but she was able to handle it.
I would highly recommend Decorator for Hire. Alicia helped me redecorate my master bed and bath, creating a relaxing retreat. Knowing I wanted to use my existing furnishings, Alicia helped me select and install new bedding, accessories, decor and new paint for the walls. Alicia was there to give me guidance, but also allowed me to have input in the process. I have a difficult time making decisions so Alicia was very patient and helped me see the big picture and not get caught up in every minor detail. If I had ideas that were above my budget, Alicia gave me alternative options that were within my budget and still accomplished my goal. She had some wonderful ideas that I would have never thought of and wouldn't have been able to do on my own. Her eye for great finds is an added bonus!
