Derby has been maintaining my yard for four years. I appreciate his thoroughness and attention to detail to keep my yard looking great. Derby has also done some landscaping, and he totally replaced a fence - which looks amazing.Mar 18, 2018
Derby is a very personable guy, very friendly and a hard worker. His bid was $500 less than his competitors. The project took 6 half days. I immediately had some issues with how the fence appeared and Derby fixed it best to his ability. Once completely installed the fence looked great from the street but on closer inspection miss cuts to the vinyl are obvious. I had to conceal them myself with weatherproof caulking. The fence is very sturdy and I know it will last. If you're not a stickler, who does white glove inspections, then he's the guy for your job.Sep 26, 2016Verified
I hired Derby to install a 22’ of new 1x4x6 cedar privacy fencing w/ a 5’ walk gate. He did an excellent job, and I am completely satisfied with the finished product. Derby’s professional, friendly, and I recommed him without reservation.Mar 15, 2018Verified
Derby not only did the job but also fixed another issue with my patio... Definitely recommend him for the job.Mar 11, 2018Verified
Great guy! Worked with me when my iron fence install got delayed mid job. Came back to finish when I was ready. He came up with a clever way to solve a gate problem. I may be hiring him again to do a bigger fence repair caused by the hurricane. I just found out he does concrete work too so he may be repairing a broken section of that for me as well.Oct 14, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing structure is based on customer needs. If it's a basic arrangement I will charge a little below industry standards. Customization usually is itemized, but overall I am usually the better value because of price and expertise.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The customer is key in my eye. I like to first meet and let them see who and what kind of person they will be potentially hiring to assist them on their need. Then, if we come to agreement on job, I would draw up contract to work out all the details of what's expected of my service and there financial obligations. Finally we start job and upon completion a final walk through is taken to make sure all aspects of contract are meet.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started out as a business Major at the University of Texas, Operated an accounting business for about 2 years, but soon found out my true passion was creating and carpentry. So decided to get experience building fence and decks through working with Aus Tex Fence and Deck. Did that for about a year and decided to branch out on my own. Been in business over 25 years and loving it. Over that time I picked up remodeling and concrete experience and overall general contracting.
