What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I might need to write a dissertation length response in order to sufficiently answer this question! There are so many things I LOVE about my job. Meeting new people every single day is one amazing aspect of my job. What makes me LOVE what I do more than anything is seeing people grow. Grow not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. The reasons people hire a trainer are vast and endless, but seeing someone improve under your wing is incredibly humbling.

    My experience training with William was definitely awesome! I have never had a trainer as motivational as he is. He pushes you past your limits. When you don't think you can do another rep he makes sure that last rep is your best rep. He makes you want to work harder, run faster, lift heavier, push farther. He is extremely down to earth and makes you feel as if you can accomplish anything. He is extremely knowledgable in all areas of health and fitness and will definitely help you succeed. He is passionate, knowledgable and very motivational!

    When I started training with Will I was 6ft and about 215 lbs. I decided to try to get into shape because I missed playing basketball with friends from high school that still played, invited me to pick-up games, and were able to stay in much better shape than I had through the years. We started with a rotating workout schedule 4 days a week- cardiovascular training one day and weight training the next- to lose the fatty weight I had accumulated over a few years of a basically sedentary lifestyle and to build endurance. In just 2 weeks under his wing I had already started to feel better and more fit. One thing I appreciated the most was that he could design the workout regime that was tailored just for my needs- my knees have been messed up since an injury I got playing basketball in high school, so running on a treadmill was very difficult, especially at the weight I was at, so he encouraged me to use ellipticals and bikes which were much easier on my knees. Once I had begun to lose weight and had gained some endurance, I decided it was time to try and run again, and Will agreed to take me on one of his famous 12 mile runs (or at least the 2 miles I was able to make it to before he told me that I had to stop or I'd likely pass out because I was struggling to continue), but that was the first 2 miles I had been able to run in over 4 years and I felt quite accomplished. Over the course of the next 6 months, Will continued to design new workout plans according to my progress and was able to encourage me to continue with my training instead of giving up. On my 7 month weigh-in, I weighed 183 lbs and had a noticeable muscle tone, and could actually run up to ten miles with virtually no pain in my knees. I would definitely say that the program Will had me on was a success.

    I went to Will when I was looking to get back in shape for soccer and tone up. His workouts weren't easy, but definitely worth it. I never left a workout wishing I had got more out of it. He even made a custom workout when I started training for my marathon. Definitely will go back when ready to get in the gym again.

    Will is one of the best trainers I have worked out with. Will genuinely cares about helping others in achieving their goals and will do whatever it takes to help them. Wills all around great attitude and patience really helped me to enjoy my workout, as well as actually want to go back and better myself. Will has lost a bunch of weight himself, and really knows from first hand experience what it takes to reach the goals we want. I loved working out with Will and am definitely going to do it again.

    This guy is awesome! While trying to improve the fitness aspect of my golf game, as well as my physical appearance, Will provided specific workouts based on my wants and needs, and was really enthusiastic about helping me reach my goals. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to become a personal trainer for a few reasons. My sophomore year in college I gained a tremendous amount of weight. My collegiate golf game suffered and I was not as cognitively sharp. As a result, I made a conscious decision to become more healthy. This decision lead to the discovery of my passion, which is health and wellness. Upon discovering this passion, I have been fortunate enough to run 3 full marathons, run collegiate cross country, and compete in the San Antonio Golden Gloves. Secondly, I decided to venture into the health and wellness industry because of my love for community. Being able to help professionals from all walks of life with their fitness goals is not only liberating, but very humbling. Everyone always has that "little extra" within them, and I absolutely love bringing it out.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most clients I train are either looking to lose weight or gain weight. I also cater a lot to the older adult community as well.
