Showed up ready to do his thing. Videographer had a good attitude even though the venue was giving us a really hard time. If you want things done fast AND professional...this is the right company. There are many videographers that take a month to give you product. I got my stuff within 2 days.

Chance was great to work with! We met with him before the wedding and he took notes of what we were looking for specifically and delivered that on our wedding day. He was there from the time we started getting ready in the morning to the time we left our reception in the afternoon. We asked him to record my husband and I reading personal letters to each other and he went above and beyond by finding a way to incorporate those into our wedding video. During the ceremony, he was very discrete. No one even noticed he was there and he never got in the way. I had seen videographers get in the way before at other weddings I attended and so I was very thankful he did the great job that he did. He was very easy and pleasant to work with and I would highly recommend him! His prices are amazing and the high quality job he does, you think you would have paid a lot more for his services and products than what you actually did. Thank you for making our wedding day a memorable one to last a lifetime!

Christina and the folks at Interviso Creative were incredibly helpful and professional throughout the entire process. They were incredibly easy to work with, and made the process very easy. They will be sure and ask you all pertinent questions, like the important songs from your wedding you want included in your video, special events during the wedding, etc. They have multiple different packages at different price points that allow you to customize your experience. Perhaps the best compliment I can give them is that I did not even notice them on my wedding day. We had 3 cameras for our wedding and at no point did I feel that they were ever intrusive or in the way. We received our completely edited blu-ray (highly recommend) within 3-4 weeks as promised. Many of the other videographers I spoke with had a significantly longer turn around time. And the blu-ray? WOW! Seriously, the quality of the video is incredible. I highly recommend Interviso Creative, you can't go wrong hiring them.

Matt K. Pros: Caring service, knowledgeable at his craft and experienced in weddings, brings multiple cameras, fantastic price point. Cons: Particular deal may not be right for those who don't know how to video edit – ask Matt which plan is right for you. My wife and I were unsure of if we should go with a videographer for our wedding, in the world of tight wedding budgets it always seems like it's the first thing to get cut. After deep consideration we felt like we would be losing more (memories in sight, sound, and motion) than we'd gain if we cut it out so we began our search unsure of what would be out there. In August of 2015 after a few pricey bids I met Matt. I first found him through a placement on Craigslist and checked out his website. The deal almost seemed too good to be true. Bring your own hard drive and he would shoot the wedding in raw. I do a little bit of video editing in Premiere, so this was the perfect thing. he was a pleasure to talk through over the phone and I was ready to give it a try. Fast forward to our wedding rehearsal on January 29th, I got to finally meet Matt in person. His affable, straightforward personality and good humor kept everyone in good spirits. He had a lot of insight to bring to the table, but was also good at knowing when to stay behind the scenes. On the wedding day, he played a large factor in keeping me (the groom) calm and thinking through every back-up plan. He went above and beyond in three meaningful ways: first, he brought extra cameras and equipment, second he stayed the entire night and captured the spirit of the reception really well, and finally he gave us an edited cut of our wedding ceremony as our wedding gift – which proved deeply helpful to share with loved ones who couldn't make it out to the wedding. If you feel comfortable editing your own footage, this is the deal for you (I'm sure he also offers full packages too if you're not). He's got a good eye and big heart for what he does.

Mr. Freddie Munoz of Digisol Media did a really fantastic job filming my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration at the historic Menger Hotel. He had two cameras and had to film a singer moving around the room. I could not have had a better videographer for this event. Thank you Freddie for capturing this moment in our lives. It will be a blessing for many years to come.

Making a video is something I have no experience in. I knew we had to tell an engaging story about our product I just wasn't sure how. Tim learned about my product before I even asked and shared my passion for my venture- it showed throughout the process. Tim's entire crew were as professional as they were a good time to be around. The final product is above and beyond what I was expected. I do not foresee any need to request another videographer on Thumbtack in the near future. +TimDan is where it's at.

My wife and I are extremely happy with our wedding photos. They were very professional and made the experience fun. They are very creative and are able to adapt to their environment and execute their vision, all while asking us for our input and letting us implement some of our own ideas. I highly recommend them to anyone needing professional photographers and videographers. You will NOT be disappointed!

I am a photographer who has worked with Ryan for quite a while now, and he has filmed a few weddings, and surprise proposals by my side as I captured the still photographs. Ever since the first wedding I worked with Ryan at, and saw the outcome, I was amazed!! I am always quick to recommend him if I have any clients in need of a videographer. He pays very close attention to detail, and makes sure he captures every memorable moment for his clients. He is a very kind, easy going young man, and makes sure his clients are comfortable as they are being filmed. His prices are very reasonable as well which is a great plus!! Whether it's an event, wedding, party, or any special occasion.. Book with Ryan and you will not be disappointed!

I have used Doug for a few years now and couldn't see being any happier with a different photographer/editor. I operate a large auction company and Doug takes all of our medium to high end item photos. We have had him photograph everything including...jewelry, coins, collectibles, artifacts, high end clothing, cars and art. His work is impeccable and I am always amazed at his work ethic and turn around time on all projects I give him.

Tom provided exceptional videography services to Texas Appleseed for 10 straight years. He is a master storyteller. And he has a unique talent – he is a master at developing and framing the story. Unlike many videographers who simply film the story you present to them, Tom can find the perfect message, develop the full storyline and then tell the story through a compelling video. The results are always extraordinary.

Mariposa served as the videographer for my mother's memorial service so that I could share it with many friends and family who were unable to attend. I had no problems communicating with Pete & his partner (Jon) before the service. Jon arrived on time (early, in fact) and did a great job recording the service. The video quality was very good, and the video editing was well-done and exactly what I needed. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Mariposa again, and I can definitely recommend them to others.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

        • Package 1: $1,400
          • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
          • Two cameras with audio equipment.
          • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
          • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
        • Package 2: $1,800
          • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
