They had overbooked and I had to reschedule. Also, it costs more for German roach treatment instead of just a prevention. $65 vs $150... So I had to go with someone else.

Great Service. I recently bought a home that was roach infested. They did and incredible job working with me despite the hurricane Harvey. They also informed me to call them after 2 weeks to spray again to make sure all the roaches are gone. Sprayed inside and outside. Right in front of me I could see the roaches trying to find a way out. I signed up foe the one year service because those bugs crip the he'll out of me. Thank you Hathuc Home and commercial services. ☺☺

I had a German roach infestation and I tried everything on the market to get rid of them. They were in most of the rooms especially the kitchen and I gave up cooking because they took over. I stumbled upon Thumbtack (I've never heard of them before) and was skeptical. I requested a quote and in less than 24 hours I received three replies. Troy was one. Although he was not the cheapest, he's the only one who followed up with me. I read through his reviews and was impressed! I made my appointment and within a few days, Troy came out. Although I was at work when he arrived, my mom spoke with him and said he was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and explained everything. He said we could expect to see a few roaches here and there for up to five days, WRONG, by day two we saw ZERO! I'm so glad I found him. I feel like I have my home back.?

AJ did a great job and was super responsive! I certainly had some sort of roach infestation and he fogged, did preventative caulking/sealing and cleaned out our shed. After AJ was done, the shed almost looked brand new!! Thanks AJ!!

We recently purchased an older home and were having some issues with insects in our master bathroom. A nice gentleman came to my home (on time) and sprayed for bugs.

Sarah Williamsom came out to my residence to treat our German Roach infestation. A friend of mine recommended her and I am very glad she did. I have never in my life had this issue, or dealt with roaches, or German Roaches which are apparently the hardest kind to get rid of. Sarah did an awesome job and was very on top of the problem, she explained everything she was going to do before she did and the reasoning behind it. She also explained everything we would need to do on our end to help what she was doing continue to work. She was very detailed and did not want to miss anything. She spent the amount of time needed to make this happen which was not overly long, but long enough to do the best job and not miss anything. I was very impressed with the quality of her work, the time she took making sure she explained everything and her success in helping us get rid of the horrible German roaches. Every time she has come out after the initial big treatment, she has made sure to look for anything we have missed to help keep them gone. She has had success in getting rid of them, however we had such a bad infestation it has taken her several trips out to continue treatment. I believe we are almost there and I can't thank her enough. We live in a mobile home which is very conducive living quarters for these type of roaches unfortunately. Sarah has knocked them down and out. She most definitely went over and beyond to make sure she got rid of the things, and also with her explaining everything to us so good. I have nothing to add on how the experience could of been better, nothing went wrong and Sarah could of done nothing better to improve her service for the future as it was excellent and continues to be so every time she comes out. I would and will recommend her to anyone and everyone who needs service. I appreciate her and the hard work she gives and makes sure she gets the job done and assures you she will. I will not use anyone else and I am so grateful to her. Thanks so much Sarah for such a great job!

I highly recommend Natran! We use them for mosquito prevention, general pest control and roach control. Not only do they succeed at getting rid of all those nasty and annoying bugs but they do it with exceptional service. I have had several of their technicians and each one has been nothing but professional. They are always on time and call before they come. Another great reason I love Natran is that they follow up when it's time to get your house sprayed again. No one wants to wait until they see gross bugs crawling around to remind them it's time for a spray. Natran does it all for you by calling and reminding you. I love it because I am a total procrastinator and always forget to schedule these things on time. The final reason I recommend Natran is that they use pet friendly spray. I have two dogs that are like my babies and it makes me so happy to know they are safe around the chemicals they use. Not to mention in the summer we can actually play with our dogs outside without getting eaten alive by the mosquitoes. Overall Natran provides a high quality service. Lets face it, there is nothing worse than bugs and bad customer service. Natran kills the bugs and does it with a staff that is professional and trustworthy.

DeAndre came to my rescue several years ago when we were infested with fleas. He did a supreme job in getting rid of the fleas within days. He has been treating my house every three months for pest and I never see roaches, fleas, spiders or ants in my house. DeAndre is such a nice person. He is prompt, honest and dedicated to his profession. I would refer and recommend him to anyone.

is guy is great! He's thorough and cheap. He sprayed my house for roaches and I didn't have to have it sprayed again for 10 years! He did a termite job for me for one third what the rest of the bids from the big-name places was and gave me a 25 year guarantee! That was 15 years ago and no problems since!

I'm so happy to have had Bryan from Ideal Pest Management come to service my apartment. My three bedroom apartment was infested with roaches which I couldn't understand because I am OCD about having a clean house (it's a must with Two dogs). He came and sprayed my apartment all the bedrooms the balcony and the garage. He also put bait in every single cabinet bathroom included. I scheduled him for next month for follow ups. The best part he didn't break the piggy bank.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

        • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
          • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
        • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

        • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
          • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
        • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
          • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
        • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
          • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
