FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are determined on a case by case basis. I price lessons based on travel time so price varies based on location. Contact me for more info. I do offer family and hour lesson discounts.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start hitting the drums together! But seriously, the first lessons (for most students) can be an intimidating thing. You have a new teacher showing up in your life who you don't really know all that well (yet) AND (for some) you've never touched the drums before. So, I usually try to alleviate the nerves by just hitting the drums and having some fun off the bat. Then, once we've broken the ice, it's time to get to learning!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from the University of North Texas with an occupational specialty in music and a concentration in business- talk about a mouthful! (And that's the summarized version) Really, I've spent my entire life engulfed in music, I have played piano since the age of 6 and started drumming at the age of 12. But since then, I have toured the U.S in a latin jazz band, served on church worship teams, played on many stages (big and small) throughout the metroplex with various bands. Nothing beats having real world experience when it comes to playing the drums.
