Introduction: I provide private instruction on drum set, keyboard percussion, and other percussion instruments. The lessons include training in rhythm reading, basic rudiments, music listening skills, time efficiency, and stick control. I have been teaching for six years, and I am a recommended teacher at both Bountiful Music and Murphey's Guitars.
I recently graduated with a degree in jazz performance from the University of Utah, where I was involved in many of the performing ensembles. I have been learning and playing drums for 15 years, and my performing experience has covered a diverse and varied assortment of bands and music styles, including rock, punk, heavy metal, jazz, Latin, musical theater, and country.
I have had the opportunity to play with many groups in Utah, such as The Ambassadors, Dizzy Desoto, Dark Horse Theatre Company, Junction City Big Band, and other freelancing projects.
I have received recognition for my abilities from music organizations, such as the Percussive Arts Society, and I was also awarded with scholarships from the school of music at the University of Utah during my time there.
I am hardworking and easy to get along with. I'm a very patient teacher and a confident performer.
