Ryan Hender did our wedding video at my wedding and it turned out amazing. With the amount of editing done it is worth the price he offers. Ryan is amazing at what he does and is a great pick for giving your wedding video a professionally done feel. It was like watching a movie about our wedding with memorable pictures and a great few surprises. The only thing I would suggest is for the groom to check if his audio recording device, that he is laced with , to see if it is still on before the I dos are said.

Nupetal Wedding Videography filmed my daughter's wedding. They did an amazing job! He arrived on time, looking very professional. Since we had chatted before hand, he knew exactly what we were looking for and he delivered! Levi was so awesome to work with and he captured the day perfectly. All around it was an terrific time working with Levi and I would recommend him to ANYONE looking for a videographer!!! Between the photographer (we had already hired) and the videographer, this was easily the best money I have ever spent! I have the memories to watch over and over!

Me and my wife had hired Shae from La Bellasole to first do our engagement photos. The day we planned ended up having some rough weather but she was still open and willing to work with it! They ended up turning out so amazing. She was super prompt on getting them done and we had our pictures back so quickly! We were so impressed and excited with the work that we also ended up hiring her for our wedding. And as we all know it's not cheap, but she was so open and willing to work with is and our situation to make it possible! Thanks for everything Shae! So amazing! Can't wait to get the wedding pictures!

Working with Stetson was an awesome experience. The song and music video he recorded for me and my band turned out amazing, and the response has been great! Definitely coming back, and will most likely be having him be the photographer/videographer for my wedding. 10/10!

We weren't originally going to have a wedding video. Because at the time we thought that those funds would be more useful in other parts. My now husband thoughg getting a videographer was the biggest waste of money. But from asking others, everyone said that getting a videographer is a must. So I started looking around, despite my husbands wants.. and I mean I looked everywhere. There were some I liked but were WAY out of my price range. Then I found Angelos Media and talked to Colby about the details. I watched some of the work he has done previously and I feel in love with it. Not only was it the style I was looking for, but I could afford it as well. If I had to do it all again I would book him immediately. From the initial consultation he worked with me and the sudder & short timeline I had given him in order to get my bridals done for the wedding. He is very easy going and laid back which made everything so much more comfortable and relaxed. Once we got just a short clip for the reception video, my husband immediately took back what he had said and fell in love with Colby's work. While he captured every aspect of the wedding perfectly, he was never overbearing and never in our face. The film is amazing, I basically cried through the entire thing. Even the music matched perfectly! If you haven't already booked Colby.. you should now!

Kristi did my boys' photos from her home studio as well as me and my husbands wedding photos. This girl really goes above and beyond to get the perfect shot. She is so cheery and fun to work with and had us laughing which made for some excellent genuine happy pictures. She puts a lot of time and effort into her edits and finds great ways to make the pictures a little better without taking away the quality.

The wedding/reception videos and the life pictures slideshow that Brennan put together for us were amazing! He was so easy to work with, adding a lot of his own creative ideas that resulted in beautiful and unique shots. Every time I have a friend who gets engaged, I tell them to go to Brennan Tolman Media. We got many more times the amount of dedication and quality than we paid for, and his prices can't be beat. I knew Brennan previous to doing business with him, and even being familiar with his great work ethic and eye for visual quality, I was shocked and extremely pleased at the work that Brennan put in and the quality of the product. And it was all worth it, it turned out so well. Not only did Brennan do the videography for the wedding event, but he was also our photographer. We had such a positive experience with Brennan as our engagement and wedding photographer. He wanted to get the poses and shots that we wanted but also added in his creative perspective to get so many fantastic pictures! It was very comfortable to work with Brennan--it was not a stressful photo shoot but rather were just enjoyable and memorable times. He even put together an engagement announcement for us, the same day as the engagement photo shoot. And if Brennan had not worked as quickly as he did to get our wedding pictures edited, our reception would not have been the same. Because of his quick and skilled work, we were able to have beautiful framed pictures of the wedding 5 hours later at our reception. He put in immense personal sacrifice, especially on the day of the wedding, to give us an impressive array of professionally edited photos, not only to display at the reception, but to keep for memories afterwards! We liked our pictures so much that we gave him free reign and told him he could use any of them in his advertising pamphlets and on his website, brennantolmanmedia.com, if he wanted to. Brennan has a great knowledge of the genre of wedding photography as well as an exemplary knowledge of lighting, angle, and focus. He always makes you look great. We were so pleased with the wide variety and quantity of finished, edited pictures that Brennan provided us with after the wedding. For anyone reading this review, you will like the way you and your spouse look on the day of your wedding, you will like how it looks the day of your corporate seminar meeting, you will like any event looks if you get Brennan Tolman Media involved.

Elsa Creates did photography for my California wedding in February 2014. She was very efficient throughout the day as well as with giving me my pictures after I got married! She was on point with our budget and communicated with me the whole time up to our wedding day. Her photography is full of light--crisp and golden, which is what every bride hopes for in her wedding pictures. I highly recommend her services to anyone whether it be a wedding, family pictures or lifestyle shoot she is amazing!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
