Introduction: I’m Maren Tenney. I help singers find the best version of their voices by offering solid voice technique and performance solutions for singers of all levels. As singers, we're in search for the edge that will make our unique voice even more stunning. We've got the talent but need effortless technique to make us sound even better. Whether beginner or emerging artist, we want expertise to help us nail that next audition, WOW the audience with another power performance, and fine-tune our songs so well that we simply shine on stage. That's where I come in. My students enjoy a customized studio experience that highlights their singing strengths. Together we uncover their unique, confident, gorgeous, sound finding greater ease in vocal line, range, flexibility, and breath support. We explore their exceptional qualities and strategically craft them into a knock-out performance! I love being witness to a live transformation! Singing is such an exposing art form. You have to put your whole heart on the line. When someone is willing to give it their all, pure magic happens and it is life-changing. You realize that the whole game just changed for someone and you were a part of that. How stunning! This is why I am a voice teacher.

I worked with Maren for four fantastic years. She is patient and kind - not to mention incredibly knowledgeable in her field. Lessons could be challenging. Maren quickly learned my strengths, but she also knew what I could work on - and we worked on those things together. All in all, I really had fun. She created a safe space where I felt I could create beautiful music. I miss working with her!

Maren is fantastic! She made singing fun again for me! She has such a passion for the voice, and helping people find their "true" voice. She not only has an excellent grasp on technique and how the voice works, but explains it to me in a way that I can understand. She is intuitive and really works hard to help me find and work through my vocal issues. She is kind, supportive, motivating, extremely knowledgeable and fun! I would recommend Maren to anyone and look forward to continuing my voice lessons!

Our 9 year daughter was interested in singing, but as parents we didn't know how to go about helping her. At the recommendation of a former student we were then led to Maren Tenney. Since being in voice lessons with Maren for 6 months now our daughter has already learned so much about finding her voice. Maren allows us to record each voice lesson she has with our daughter which then allows us to practice at home (awesome if you come from a less musically inclined background). We recommend Maren as she always provides our daughter with positive feedback, helpful tips/technique, comfortable environment for beginners and patience.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons begin at $25 per half hour lesson. I offer half hour, 45 minute, and hour voice lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free consultation to interested clients. We discuss their singing goals and how I can help them get to where they want to be. We work on developing awesome technique and incorporate it into their song.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA and an MFA in Music--Vocal Performance from the University of Utah. I have an MAEd in Education and am a Level II licensed teacher for the State of Utah.
