My bio: Alhy Moore has been teaching piano for over fourteen years. She studied with Brigham Young University faculty member, Scott Holden during her high school and college years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music and a masters in TESOL both from Brigham Young University. During her time at BYU, Alhy had the opportunity to learn piano pedagogy from faculty member Irene Peery-Fox and to attend the World Piano Pedagogy Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Throughout 2006 and 2007, Alhy had the opportunity to learn the Taubman approach from Kendall Feeney in Spokane, Washington. This highly specialized technique helps pianists reach a higher level of technical proficiency and prevents injuries. During her teaching career, Alhy has gained experience teaching a wide variety of students including Kids with ADHD and autism, teens hoping to major in performance in college, and adults of various levels and ability. After closing her successful studio in Utah after the conclusion of her and her husband’s college careers, she is now building up her studio again in northern VA. Alhy is the proud mother of two daughters.
