Rich is a rare find. The kind of skilled, work-horse, professional who should be training everyone else in his industry. Not only did he over-deliver on an amazing carpet restoration, but his price was so modest that I did a double-take at his bill. He's now my go-to carpet wizard. If you're reading this, just hire him already.

Kevin came to the appointment as scheduled and showed me the carpet options. He was very nice and professional. The whole planning and payment transactions went great. They called me when the carpet arrived to schedule a time to install the carpet. I was told the installer was going to arrive that morning in between 9:00 and 11:00. At noon I had to call the office to ask about the installer who didn't show up or call. About half an hour later Carlos called saying that he couldn't come until 15:30, or we would have to reschedule. I told him he was supposed to come that morning and he acted like he didn't know. I had to be OK with the 15:30 appointment, since I already cleared my day to have the carpet installed. Carlos did an OK job. He finished within 3 hours. Everything seemed OK, but the next morning I noticed that he did a poor job around the tile in front of the fireplace. On one of the sides is not completely tucked and it looks like it was cut too short. I am afraid that when I vacuum or clean the carpet, that area is going to be a problem. I wish I could give a five star, but the company has to make clear to their installers that being punctual and doing a quality job is very important to the clients.

These guys are wonderful! I've had two other house cleaners in the past and they just don't compare to the great job I received from home and company. They did a beautiful job on the bathroom fixtures and glass shower. They cleaned the inside windows. They did an awesome job cleaning the blinds. They even pulled out my dryer and cleaned behind it! They wiped down all the trim and even wiped the outside of my front door. They were happy to do anything that I asked. They definitely went above and beyond what I expected. They even offer carpet cleaning at additional cost which they did a beautiful job with as well. I am happy to say I have found my new house cleaners.

I originally needed carpet removal. I asked him about tile removal and he had one of his guys available. They did an amazing job. It was really hard work. They removed everything and stripped the floor, preparing it for the new material. They did the job well and for a great price. A couple of things came up we weren't expecting but their honesty and desire to make things right really made me trust them and happy. I will definitely hire again and I definitely recommend! Awesome peeps.

He has been doing my carpet cleaning for 3 years. He is very conscientious about your home and items. The value of the cleaning keeps me coming back. He does a deep clean and then 6 months later an encapsulation. This has prolonged the life of my carpet. One you make a big investment in flooring you should maintain it to get the full value. I was a bit hesitant to have a carpet runner installed on some tricky wooden circular stairs done without any reviews. But after talking with the owner and hearing about his 25 years experience laying carpet I decided to try them. I had another bid by utah flooring and design but it was overpriced and I was worried it would just get contracted out to someone less experienced. They also told me we didn’t have enough carpet to do the job. I liked the appraiser but had no idea who would actually come to the lay the carpet and what their experience would be. That was he main reason I went with The owner, Nathan at BC abatement. I sent him pictures of the stairs and he communicated with us all along the way, and assured me he could do a good job personally. He was able to fit us in quickly and did a great job on some tricky stairs with a hand woven wool carpet. He was professional and his assistant was as well. They did the job in one afternoon and evening, cleaned up the area nicely, and listened to our feedback and responded on what we wanted as the job progressed. They also cut the carpet so that we had plenty left over! I’d use them again for carpet installation as long as I knew Nathan was doing the work and onsite with his team.

Our office carpets was heavy stained with tracks of grease from our service technicians walking through from our shop. Upon the recommendation of another carpet cleaning company we were getting ready to replace the carpets. We decided to try Heavenbest Carpet cleaning services before doing so and was amazed at the results! Not only was Craig able to get the grease stains out but the carpets look brand-new saving us hundreds of dollars and his price was less expensive than our previous cleaner! We were very please with his professionalism and the results and would definitely recommend him!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.

How much does it cost to install carpet?

If you’re ready to bring new life into your house with a makeover from the ground up, you’re ready to learn more about carpet installation costs. Installation costs vary greatly, depending on a number of factors such as the type of carpet, the number of square yards, any necessary repair work, the number of stairs you have, and where you live. Due to these variables, the national average cost of carpet installation ranges between $200 and $4,500.

To start planning for your new carpet, measure roughly how many square yards of carpet you’ll need. Research the main carpet styles and materials you like to get a feel for what they cost. Nylon carpets are typically the least expensive, and wool is one of the higher-end carpets. Prices per square foot might range from under $2 to over $10, depending on materials. Count the number of stairs you want carpeted; each one might average between $3 and $10 (or more for box steps). Carpet removal can be an added cost as well, averaging $1-$4 per square yard, depending on the company and regional disposal costs.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.
