About

I have studied violin and piano quite vigorously my whole life and love to share by teaching the beautiful things I have learned throughout this process. I have had multiple students throughout my life in both piano and violin. In teaching these students, I have grown into helping teach at the students level. I will help you learn efficiently as long as you are willing to practice and put in the work outside of lessons. Music is a very big part of me and I love creating a new and continuous set of skills with each new individual that I teach.

About

Thank you for your interest! A little about me: I've been playing the violin for 22 years. I hold a bachelor's and masters degree in violin performance from Indiana University. I am currently a violinist in the Utah Symphony, and I love it! I have had over 12 years of private teaching experience. People of all ages and levels are welcome! I am qualified in teaching the Suzuki method, as well as whatever the student is interested in. I don't believe in sticking to one specific method of teaching, and once I meet the student and see his or her level of musical interests, I tend to go from there. I also encourage the students to find a piece that they have always wanted to learn, and if we can find music for it, we get to work. It's a fun way to get motivated! I enjoy working with kids, and am always looking for new ways to make the lessons fun and bring laughter into them. Lessons aren't supposed to be scary! I teach from my home in Murray, Utah. For further questions and information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you! - Julie

About

Thank you so much for your interest in my studio. I have played the violin for 16 years, and have been teaching private lessons for 4+ years. I attended Snow College for 2 years as a music education major, and I also assisted and taught 4th and 5th-grade elementary school classes for nearly a year as part of the Mountain West String Academy (of Cache Valley). I have played with four different large performing groups, as well as countless small ensembles and quartets. I am currently playing first violin with the Murray Symphony. I absolutely love the interaction from students willing and ready to learn! I work hard at creating the best possible atmosphere for learning an instrument. I believe that there's more to a great teacher than just a lot of knowledge. A teacher must be able to relate with their students in a unique way that will inspire the child to achieve. I never pass up an opportunity to laugh and have a good time during the lesson. Whoever said that violin teachers had to be ornery, intimidating or old? I believe in keeping a broad approach to the curriculum, instead of nailing down one style of music and demanding every child respond well to it. After all, every child is different, so why should I insist they all learn the same? I like teaching from the Suzuki books, but I also see the worth in the many other methods. I enjoy tossing in some fiddle music, as well as classical music as I believe a combination of the two styles will relieve boredom and frustration in aspiring students. I teach from my home in Magna, UT. I offer two options for lessons: 1) half-hour lessons every week (totaling $60.00 a month), or 2) one hour lessons every week (totaling $120.00 a month). I gladly accept all students from the age of 8 and up. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, and to check for available lesson times!
