Not only have I learned a lot of core fundamental theory, technique and training, I have learned that at SLC guitar lessons are ultimately about each individual being able to express themselves to the fullest with the guitar. Would recommend to anyone wanting to better themselves in a musical kind of way.
Really positive and makes guitar lessons enjoyable. Cares about you making progress.
I first met Mark through group guitar lessons through Davis Community Schools. I took his first and second group lessons. Since then I have been taking private lessons for almost two years now. Mark is an excellent guitar instructor. He adapts all my lessons to what I want to learn. He is patient, kind and encouraging. His favorite phrase is, "You are better today than you were yesterday!" I use to take lessons out of state for several years and never really learned anything. I never felt motivated to practice. In my two years with Mark, I have always desired to practice regularly and have made far more improvement in this short time than I ever did previously. If you are interested in lessons, or know someone who is, Mark is DEFINITELY your best choice! I have seen him work well with students of all ages. You can't go wrong with lessons from Mark DesLaurier!
Kevin is a first class musician who knows his trade and craft well, he is patient, encouraging, and methodically presents the lessons so I learn not only how to play guitar but the music theory behind as well. Too bad I had to leave Utah to return home after a few months of contract work otherwise I am sure I will continue to take lessons from this talented young man.
Devin is very good at teaching guitar. I have learned a lot from him in a short amount of time. He is very patient, and is always happy when he teaches lessons.
I like Steve. He has an overall great understanding of the guitar and I really like how he focuses on applying guitar theory. It's a slow and steady progression. Which is what I need.
I've been taking lessons with Austin for over a year now and couldn't be happier. I took lessons previous for five years on acoustic guitar, and then taught myself electric. I felt I needed more professional help on my electric guitar and decided to take lessons from Austin. My playing has improved immensely and I understand more music theory than I ever could have learned by myself or on YouTube. The overall experience has been great and I'm excited to learn more each week.
Ryan is a great guitar teacher. He is always patient with me and very knowledgeable about music theory.
Aaron is the most knowledgeable guitarist I know, and he is extremely patient. I highly recommend him
I have a 9 year old son that has wanted to play for a long time. We have tried other teachers and none of them have compared to Landon. I would highly recommended LN Guitar to anyone.
My lessons go far beyond just playing guitar. I include: Music theory, Singing, and overall performance techniques.Depending on the students wants and abilities. My goal is to guide my students towards their personalized music goals. Including at times piano and vocal lessons in tandem with the guitar. This varies of course by the needs of the student
I just love playing and teaching the guitar. Music is a huge part of my life, and I want to share the experience of being able to create art without necessarily picking up a pencil and paper or an easel and a brush. I am dedicated to teaching others on how to play this beautiful instrument because it's a great hobby, it's very stress relieving and just mind-sitting. Mind-sitting? Yeah! Once you learn how to play the guitar and understand the fundamentals I will help show you, playing the guitar goes from being a struggle to pin down the right notes at the same time, to like riding a wave as it gently dies out at the top of the sand and washes back into the ocean. It is very calming and surreal. You feel like a part of the instrument, and I want to share that feeling with everybody who is willing to sit down and take the time to learn such a beautiful part of life.
I provide guitar lessons for all ages, locally or via Skype. I teach both acoustic and electric guitars for all styles and skill levels at great prices! I work around your schedule to structure the right lessons for you.
I'm time flexible and know what I am doing on the guitar, blues influenced. I understand music and see styles as framework and appreciate musical diversity.
I'm an accomplished guitar player of 10 years and I am prepared to teach students at any level. If you are a beginner, we will start from basic chords to learning tablature and music theory-- using songs you would like to learn as our material. I have a second guitar for you to use, though I would recommend buying your own and I can instruct you on a purchase as well if needed.
I teach guitar and bass for all types of music (best for jazz). I perform jazz. Depends on how you like, I do duo, trio and quartet.
My name says it, I am very passionate with music and teaching it only expands my love for it, I make sure every student accomplishes their goal to learn.

Hey, my name is Ian. I'm 23 years old; I live in Midway, Utah, and I've been a guitar teacher for the last 5 years. I'm currently a student at UVU and looking to expand my teaching pool. I have a very different teaching style in the way that I teach what you want to learn. Our first lesson will consist of you making a list of your favorite bands/songs and me teaching you based on that list. This way, we can progress your skills with the guitar, while always teaching what you would like to learn!
