I have a rather large yard, and needed leaf and lawn services. Antony was very easy to work to get the service scheduled, sent me texts on the day of so I knew status as I wasn't home at the time, the team was punctual, and the result was excellent. My yard hasn't looked that nice in quite a while. Will definitely call on them again for lawn maintenance.

2nd Review *FOLLOW UP* I received a called from the company and after conversation I decided to give them another try. They came back and did a PHENOMENAL job with my lawn. Now let me just add that these guys definitely know what they are doing. They are very knowledgeable and have great ideas about what you can do to make your lawn that "special lawn on the block", treatment for your lawn, flowers, etc. Respectful and reasonable. I am very happy that I decided to give them another try. Leon offered me an apology personally and by email and I greatly appreciate that. We are all human and life happens. Finding a business that can stand by there word and is passionate is very rare these days and that is what I found with this company. By gones are by gones and I am looking forward to a forever not long standing relationship with this company. Envision is fantastic!! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!!

Employees were very responsive to messages. They suggested a time and I said that earlier would be better, and they were able to come before the specified time. They mentioned other services they offer (landscaping, weeding, etc.) and gave cost estimates. They were open to scheduling mowing twice a month, which I prefer for budgeting reasons.

David arrived at my residence and inquired about my expectations and needs for lawn cutting. I had unexpected guests arriving at anytime. My grass had grown very high in certain areas of the yard and it would have been a great embarrassment to me if the guest had arrived and saw the condition of the lawn. I searched Thumbtack for lawn cutting services and David provided quotes and stated he could do the job immediately. He did an EXCELLENT job mowing, trimming, edging and removing debris from the yard and completed the job before my guests arrived. He made the yard so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes that my neighbor also hired him to service his also lawn. Thanks David for excellent work and service on a Sunday afternoon.

Superior Lawn and Cleaning was indeed superior. I chose them based on customer service and responsiveness. I needed very quick turn around service on a condo unit to have ready for a new tenant. Superior handled the extensive cleaning needed and the painting as well, working within my time line, and my budget. The results are impeccable and the condo is once again in pristine condition. I will definitely use their services in the future; they expertly handle more than just cleaning and lawn services. It was one stop shopping for me and I love that as a busy landlord. Renee Brooks

Israel and his team did an incredible job on our landscaping! We bought a house that had been on the market for a year, so the landscaping, including multiple planted areas, mulch/woodchips, lawn/sod, and a goldfish pond, had been neglected. His quote was very reasonable, and his team completed the project in just 2 days. They put down new sod in a dead area, did a complete weeding/cleanup of all the neglected areas, cleaned up around the pond, and removed poison ivy. They were so good that we signed an annual contract to have them continue maintaining the lawn with mowing services, semi-annual cleanups/weeding etc. Israel was very responsive, easy to communicate with via phone, email, or text, and gave great advice on what to do with the lawn. I recommend this company without hesitation! I will post some before/after photos on Yelp as well to show the quality of work. Thank you Israel & team!

I had problems with lawn care in the past and decided to trust in this website again for affordable lawn care. Where other lawn services brought equipment and crews to get in and out as quick as possible, David came personally and walked the yard with me to understand the scope of work and what I expected. After seeing my lawn he gave me a very competitive price that I was astonished by. I stopped by the house during my lunch and to my surprise David was still there finishing up. This is not to say his work is slow by any means, it was just a shock to me because I was used to companies trying to maximize houses per day. Also, to be honest we had let our yard get in pretty bad shape. In the end I did the math and couldn't understood how David could have made much money off my house for the time spent there. To his credit he never asked for additional money and thanked me for my time and was on his way. Later when I contacted David and offered to pay him more for his time, he did confess it was a lot of work. Not only that but we are now fortunate to have him booked for recurring service and still at a very affordable price!

If you're looking for a company who will treat your property like theirs choose KBLP Lawn and Landscape. I was referred to KBLP Lawn and Landscape through a friend of a friend. They have been cutting my yard for the last two years and have me on a maintenance program. I have always had a lawn company however they were just a cut and forget. KBLP Lawn and Landscape has been the best full service lawn care company I have ever had. Joe and his crew will always have my business. Put all your lawn care needs in the hands of this company and you will not regret the decision.

I would recommend Paniagua Lawn Service to every homeowner. Mr. Paniagua was very professional and friendly. He and his crew weeded, planted and mulched my five flower beds that had been neglected for many months since I hurt my back. It was a small one time job which other companies didn't want to bother with, but it was very important to me. My yard looks 100% better thanks to Mr. Paniagua's hard work.

I hired Adkins Landscapes for landscape maintenance around my home and lawn maintenance in my backyard. The lawn was in terrible shape and they brought the grass back to a beautiful rich thick green lawn. The team did a thorough spring cleanup and feeding/mulching of all landscaped beds in the back yard and just recently did an excellent job of expanding an older landscape bed in the side yard and planted a lovely new tree in the midst of it. The company is very personable in working with you to meet your needs, very knowledgeable in making recommendations, and has a high standard of quality in their work.

Montez Scott is very professional and personal. I had been in search of lawn care for a while when Thumbtack located MLS for my area. Mr. Scott was on time and started working immediately. I found him to be very knowledgeable about the lawn care business. His rates are exceptionally affordable and his work is really good. I wanted to post before and after pics but I got an error message that the file was too big. Although, this is my first time working with Mr. Scott, I felt confident in his abilities, enough so, to place him on retainer for the season. You can't go wrong with this guy! Dr. Alice Delaney

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What's the best way to maintain your lawn?

Keeping a lawn lush and green requires consistent mowing, weeding, watering, fertilizing and more. If your lawn is particularly large, it may make sense to hire a full-service lawn care provider. Whether you take a DIY approach or bring in the experts, maintaining your lawn requires a range of tasks.

Plan to mow the lawn often, allowing it stay longer than may seem convenient — longer grass is healthier grass. The general rule is to cut off no more than a third of the grass blade. This helps prevent damage to the lawn as well as keeping weeds from taking root. It’s also important to remove any weeds, then prevent new ones from growing. In spring, consider spraying a pre-emergent herbicide on your lawn to prevent crabgrass and other types of weeds from sprouting from seed. During other seasons, broadleaf weeds like dandelions can be pulled by hand or sprayed with weed killers. The best time to water your lawn is early in the morning, allowing the sun to help dry the grass. Make sure to thoroughly soak the lawn so that the water penetrates several inches into the ground.

Lawn care also requires feeding; look for a mixture of fast- and slow-release fertilizers that include nitrogen. Some lawns also benefit from aeration, which creates small holes to let air, water and nutrients penetrate the grass roots. Although most homeowners can manage these tasks on their own, a full-service lawn care company can handle them on a regular schedule, taking the guesswork out of maintaining a beautiful lawn.

How do you look after your lawn?

Having a beautiful lawn doesn’t just happen by magic. A multi-pronged approach to lawn care will result in a healthy lawn that will have your neighbors green with envy. The national average price for multi-service lawn care ranges from $40 to $50. Whether you tackle the project yourself or hire a lawn care professional, looking after your lawn requires consistent work. A baseline of lawn care is keeping your grass mowed and your irrigation system working properly. Fertilizing plants and grasses, as well as trimming and pruning foliage, may promote the health of your plants and lawn. Many lawn care pros offer different packages with varying monthly fees depending on your lawn size and the services you desire. Here are a few examples of average lawn care prices:

  • 1,000- to 2,500-square-foot lawn: $60-$90 per month
  • 5,000-square-foot lawn or larger: $110-$150 per month.
    • Includes lawn maintenance, cleanups and irrigation repairs. The company trims shrubs, pulls weeds, blows out yard waste, fertilizes and does minor irrigation repairs.
  • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
  • 8,001- to 15,000-square-foot property: $35 per week/$140 per month.
  • 15,001- to 20,000-square-foot property: $40 per week/$160 per month.
    • Includes mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.

What should I do to my lawn in the spring?

Spring is the perfect time to start thinking about lawn care. The ground is recovering from a long, cold winter, plants are starting to grow, and the earth is ready to receive new seeds. When the weather starts to warm, the first step in your lawn care strategy is deciding what you would like to achieve and what you need to do to make it happen. Your next step is to start cleaning up. Rake your lawn free of decomposing leaves, trim back shrubs and branches, and clear out all the weeds. Once your lawn is cleared of debris, tend to your irrigation system. Test your system and decide whether any repairs are necessary. Now it’s time to nourish the lawn. If you opt to aerate your lawn in spring, the national average cost is $70-$100. Consult with your lawn care pro, as some regions benefit from only aerating in fall. If you have bare spots, you can overseed the lawn to encourage new growth. Next you’ll want to fertilize the lawn to ensure it grows in rich and lush. Professional fertilization services may range from under $50 to over $200, depending on your lawn size. If you have a bad weed problem, you (or your lawn care pro) can apply pre-emergent herbicide to prevent a weed outbreak. Make sure the irrigation system is routinely watering your lawn, and then enjoy watching the grass grow.

How much is lawn care service?

Ensuring a lush, green lawn is so much more than simply mowing and watering the grass; it’s also pulling existing weeds and preventing future ones, fertilizing with the right nutrients, and coaxing new grass to grow in patchy spots. For many homeowners, a full-service lawn care company is the best way to maintain a beautiful lawn. The cost for professional lawn care depends on the size of the lawn and the services the homeowner chooses, as well as the location. For the typical suburban residence, the national average cost of full-service lawn care maintenance is $40-$50 per hour. Depending on the size of your lawn, that can cost you just $100 per month or more than $1,000 per month, but the average is about $350 per month. Most monthly services include a weekly cut, especially in the spring, as well as edging, weeding, and blowing the driveway, sidewalks and porches.
