Introduction: Teaching yoga was a call for me. I completed the teacher basic training Hatha style, Vinyasa flow in July 2010. In addition to several workshops, four years later I completed the Residential Intermediate Teacher Training at Satchidananda Yogaville Ashram, Hatha style, Integral Yoga.
The basic training was challenging, intense, and wonderful. As a health, wellness educator and ergonomic consultant for 20 years, I was fortunate to better assimilate the anatomy, biomechanics, and physiology while discovering the fascinating yoga philosophy, principles, and asanas.
The residential Integral Yoga training, allowed me to go deeper in my learning, practice, and teaching experience as well as having the opportunity to live in the Ashram under the guidance of Sri Swami Asokananda and Leticia Padmasri. Currently, I am a E RYT-200 and member of The Yoga Alliance.
Furthermore, I have consistently been practicing yoga on my own as well as being able to assist my first yoga teacher, Dr. Amberlyn Mathis at her regular classes. In addition, I have been teaching yoga to middle school students at The Lab School of Washington, and teaching power yoga and vinyasa flow yoga at The Xsport Fitness Health Club in Alexandria.
My studies include, but are not limited to, the Max Storm's workshops, Dharma Mitra's classes, Jivamukti School in NYC, Tara Brach's retreats, workshops and podcasts, Judith Hanson Lasater's books and podcasts, and Pranayama programs and Integral Yoga classes at Yogaville Ashram.
My love for yoga as a philosophy and practice. My appreciation to its invaluable contribution to each individual as well as the world at large that enjoys and benefit from it practices, makes me feel that yoga is the best that may happen to anyone.
Namaste,
