I've been working with Tim for almost 2 years now. Tim has a great, private, home studio in his basement with about a dozen different acoustic and electric guitars, a variety of bass and amps, and tons of other equipment like microphones, recording software, effect peddles, etc... You don't need to bring your own equipment if you don't want to. If you do, Tim also has a work bench and can help with repairs, maintenance, and fine tuning. His studio is in Canton and convenient for lessons. Plus, Tim is very flexible and able to accommodate me when my schedule changes suddenly. When I first started with Tim, I had been playing on my own for about a year. Tim is an amazing musician but didn't make me feel bad about my level (or lack there of) of skill. Tim first taught me the basics of foundational guitar theory (notes, scales, chords grips, chord theory, keys, etc) and focused on technique, picking, fingerstyle, and strumming patterns. However, he kept it light and fun and we worked in learning the songs I wanted to learn at the same time, making the experience enjoyable instead of a chore. Tim is always willing to help transcribe and tab out a song for me, or a solo I want to reproduce, or other melodies/chord progressions from other songs. He is even willing to send out videos or recordings to use for practice purposes. We are now delving more into music theory and more advance compositions and songs.
I started as a complete novice on the bass, and after just two years with Morgan, I've sat in with a band playing at a local nightclub and have been asked to join a group. Morgan really tailors the lesson to your experience and interest, and he has an excellent grasp of music theory. The way he teaches makes it easy to put what you've learned to work in real-life playing situations.
Don is a very accomplished guitarist with a wealth of knowledge. It shows that he is eager to impart his knowledge. I had my first lesson with him today and I learned so much. He incorporates music theory in to his lessons to show us why things are played the way they are and where they originated from. He was patient and very encouraging. His soloing skills are phenomenal and I am excited to learn from him. I highly recommend him to musicians of all levels. He is now my jazz guitar guru! Hail to the Guitar Chief Don!
Talented, dynamic singer and teacher. Great music selections, thorough knowledge of music theory, fun choreography, and fantastic performing opportunities. Highly recommend taking voice with Nicole.
Brian was awesome! I had him perform at my wife's 40th birthday party and he was great. He learned a few new songs (in addition to the extensive list he already knows) that my wife and her friends loved when he sang them. He was very accommodating in that he performed his first set outside and then moved inside. I highly recommend him and will hire him for other parties in the future!
I have studied under Dave off and on for about seven or so years and have grown in my knowledge of music theory and structure. I recommend Dave for beginners and seasoned players . Fellow plucker ,Todd Bolin
I have taken over a years worth of guitar lessons from American Music Studio and will continue taking lessons into the future. Brett in co. cater lessons to your skill level and learning style, encouraging you to push the limits and learn more. The instructors are approachable, motivational, personable and experts in their craft. I cannot express how educational and enlightening my experience with American Music Studio has been.
I studied guitar, theory and musicianship with Larry for a little over five years. Larry was an excellent teacher, and took my playing and understanding of music to the next level. One thing that always impressed me about his lessons was the organized system that he used. It kept the objectives and goals for each lesson clear and concise. I always knew what to practice, and what to expect in each lesson. Another aspect of Larrys lessons that I always appreciated was the inclusion of musicianship and theory in my lessons. In addition to directly related guitar topics such as picking technique, chords and scales, we would also work on sight-singing, rhythm, and four-part writing and composition. After studying with him for a little while, not only do your guitar skills improve, but your overall understanding of music really begins to mature. I would recommend lessons with Larry to anyone who wants to seriously learn guitar, and further their knowledge of music.
Teresa is a very talented musician and experienced piano/guitar teacher. She is kind and patient with all of her students and with everyone around her. Her lessons are affordable but also high qualitythey cover music theory, technique, musicianship, repertoire, and even a bit of music history. I have had the pleasure of observing many of her music lessons and taking piano lessons myself. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn piano or guitar.
Fedor did a fantastic job with my teenage son in just a few weeks of lessons. He is technically very strong and gives good advice to students, he has a clear understanding of each individual's strengths and areas of improvement. He is flexible and very supportive. My son who has had a few teachers before, loves working with Fedor.
Paul was an amazing teacher, he tailored the lessons to work on what I was interested in and focused on achieving my own goals as a musician. As a student and music minor, he did a fantastic job incorporating music theory in each lesson, which I greatly appreciated. Also, he was flexible about scheduling which was helpful, again as a student various things came up but Paul was always willing to reschedule at my convenience. He's a great guy, very easy to talk to, and if I find myself in Baltimore in the future I will definitely contact him for future guitar lessons!
While I’ve only started my violin lessons Kirsten has been a wonderful teacher whom I know will be able to help me learn to play the violin.
My teenager takes clarinet lessons at the music space. Her instructor, Zach, is great! The entire team is very professional and kind. I would highly recommend "The Music Space".
I’m glad I’ve met my piano teacher on thumbtack. She’s very patient and share her passion about music in the lessons. I enjoyed her lesson a lot.
Diego is a natural teacher with a God-given talent. My daughter has only been taking guitar lessons for 4 1/2 months, but I am amazed by her progress and accomplishments. She learns something new each week and walks out of each lesson with a big smile on her face. He is very kind, encouraging and knowledgeable with a fun and diverse repertoire. I highly recommend Diego.
Mrs. Dotson is one of the most experienced, patient, kind, knowledgeable, and gracious professors. We have had other piano professors before but none truly as wonderful as Mrs. Dotson. She demonstrates genuine interest in the growth of her students. She caters her teaching towards the individual interest of her students in order for them to reach their true potential and keep the classes always interesting and challenging. Consequently, she's an amazing professor for students of all ages. We can't rave enough about her. We always recommend her to any of our friends who are looking to either have their children or they themselves want to learn not only how to play the piano but also music theory, virtuosity, composition, and develop an authentic love for piano music of all genres.
Jordan is a great teacher! He is really patient with me, and assigns homework that is really helpful for me to get solid footing on everything learned in our session. He knows music theory and gives me great tips on how to practice chords and improvise on my own. The workbook that he gives me after every class is personally designed and easy to comprehend. I highly recommend him!
To put it simply, I would not be the musician I am today without Max. He is an incredible instrumentalist, audio engineer, and teacher. I have learned so much about music theory, performance, recording and producing, and everything in between. Multiple times he helped me take a song from an idea to a finished product, teaching me the process throughout. I would recommend Max to anyone who wants to dive deeper into the world of music in whatever way you want, as he is fully prepared and more than qualified to teach you.
Dr. Lamkin provided trumpet lessons to our high school daughter for about two years. During that time, we found him to be an impressive capable teacher, who cared greatly for his students' success and progress, as shown by how strenuously he worked to prepare our daughter for Trumpet Ensemble and All-State Band competitions. He was clearly concerned with ensuring his pupils made continuous progress, and wasn't content to sit back and "coast," but kept pushing his students to get better. He had a friendly, outgoing way of interacting with my wife and myself, and made sure we remained informed about our daughter's progress, and where she needed to focus on improvement. Even after our daughter graduated from high school and entered college this past year, Dr. Larkin maintained regular contact with us, to find out how she was doing and ask that we pass along his messages of encouragement to her. I would 100% recommend Dr. Lamkin as a teacher.
Janet Greene was my son’s private lessons teacher for almost ten years. She worked with him as a 4th grader until after graduation. His love for his viola and music is in large part due to her passion for music and her gentle guidance to the nuances of music and playing. She also encouraged him to practice every day and we have fond memories of him walking around the house every evening playing his instrument. She often found other venues for him play which gave him confidence in his ability to play in front of others. I believe that one reason he is still playing his instrument in college is the love for music she helped him develop. I highly recommend her as an instructor, tutor and person!
My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Toni for several months. I love that Toni comes to my house to teach, so that I can stay home and work on other projects during her lessons. Toni is extremely reliable, prompt, and responsive. She is very kind and patient, my daughter loves having her come and looks forward to her lessons. She always leaves a clear practice plan, so that my daughter can practice on her own and knows exactly what to do. I highly recommend piano lessons with 10 Fingers Music!
