WOW! WOW! WOW! Awesome pictures, awesome job, awesome person, awesome price AND AWESOME PERSONALITY! Crystal did everything we asked for and more for our wedding. She was very creative with several of the bridal party photos which made us laugh. She was booked for 6 hours and stayed 8. She even gave us 15 free Thank you cards as a bonus. I can't say enough positive words about Soirees by Lauren! We hired them for our wedding on 9/23/2017, and to say they handled so many minor stresses we (the bride & groom) wouldn't want to deal with on our wedding day would be an understatement! We met with Ashley many months in advance, and from that moment on I knew she knew what she was doing! A couple weeks prior to our wedding day she sent me a questionnaire that was so in-depth it hit details I hadn't even thought of! At the rehearsal, we had Allie, who took control and helped make sure everything would run smoothly while still listening to my concerns (I wanted to walk from a different location so as not to be seen until right near the ceremony site, and she was very helpful in pitching ideas and making sure it was ultimately how I wanted it). The rehearsal was quick & easy! The wedding day we had Allie & Mariah, and they had our printed out questionnaire and notes and took care of so many little details I had stressed over! By the time we finished photos of the bridal party, I looked over and they had broken down and packed up all of our ceremony decorations! They set all of our favors and place cards up for us and at the end of the night, everything at our reception was carefully packed away in our family's vehicles. I would recommend this team to anyone planning a wedding - they are worth every penny for the so many things they take of prior to & during the wedding!

I loved working with Jenn Brosch! She did my wedding makeup and she also did my bridal party makeup and it was absolutely amazing! I couldn't ask for a better MUA, she's so professional, knowledgable, and kind. I have been going to styles by Nadia for several years now. When I first met Nadia she told me that she specialize in healthy hair. I didn't know exactly what that meant until I showed up for my first appointment. My hair was severely damaged from braids. She consulted with me first to find out my background, like what kinds of medication that I take or anything that may cause severity to my hair. She keeps a file for her clients to go on or to add on. Considering we all have changes all the time. Over the years Nadia suggested that I remove chemicals from my hair and she also made me take natural supplements for awhile. Today I can say I have a head full of thick, natural, healthy hair. I feel as if there is no one that can manage my hair like she does. Not only is she a blessed beautician but she also has a one on one personal relationship with her clients. If I schedule an appointment then I know for a fact it is just me and her, and nothing is ever rushed. She does fantastic work. It's hard to find someone that does a sew-in and it last for over two months. She is very diverse and there is no texture of hair that she can't do. Styles By Nadia has always been an A+ in my book.

Maegen coordinated my wedding in 2012. She helped me find local bridal and cake shops, DJs and venues for our wedding. We started planning about a year in advance and she was there every step of the way. Maegen had great ideas for decor and made sure we did not forget any important details. By the day of our wedding Maegen had been in contact with all of vendors involved(cake lady, DJ, caterer, photographer, musician,etc.) and coordinated what time they should arrive to the venue to set up for the wedding. She was there bright and early the day of our wedding and made sure everyone arrived on time and set up as planned. When there was a delay in my arrival she made an announcement to the guests explaining the delay and convinced our caterer to open the bar which our guests greatly appreciated! She made sure we stayed on time all night even though we started an hour late and ensured the major events were done early so those who wanted to leave could. She ensured we had time to take all of the photos we wanted and they turned out amazing. At the end of the night she worked with my family to move all of our gifts out of the venue and made sure all of the guests were out of the building by the required time so we did not get charged extra! She made our wedding day stress free and enjoyable! We could not have asked for a better coordinator for our wedding!

One of the most important and rewarding decisions I made through the process of planning my wedding was choosing M&T to be my wedding planners. These girls are absolutely amazing. They took care of everything from helping me find a venue, to even taking my veil to get it cleaned for me. They were there every step of the way, for every contract I signed, for every decision I made, for picking out decorations and flowers, even for giving my dad (who lives out of state) directions when he got lost in Richmond on his way to the rehearsal. These girls were with me through thick and thin, and helped me plan the most amazing wedding I could have ever wanted, in only 3 months. When it came down to the day of, if anything caused complications, I never even knew it. Everything went so smoothly and just the way I imagined it would. At the end of the day they always ensured that all of the contracts were being followed and I was getting everything I wanted. Through this experience, these girls are so much more than just some wedding planners that I hired and will never talk to again now that the big day is over with, I can honestly say that these girls are and always will be my friends.

With only 3 months to plan a wedding, I knew an event planner was a necessity. What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

  • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
  • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
  • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
  • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

  • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
  • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
  • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
  • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.   
  • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
  • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.
