I hired Zurraine Benn ett as my son's karate instructor several years ago. We were with him for approximately 5 years. During that time, not only was Z his instructor, he was a mentor. Zurraine's professionalism is outstanding. He is courteous and even tempered. Nothing riles this man. If you hire Zurraine, you can guarantee is professionalism and his workmanship. I promise, you won't regret working with him.
I regularly attended two of John "Bones" Shaddock classes. They were intense, but not so much so that I couldn't catch on or get any benefit--I'm 45. I then moved into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with him. I had been to several gyms before, but I only started learning it when I worked with "Bones". He was able to work with me for a program to suit my needs and schedule. His prices for classes and individual instruction are more reasonable than any in the Reisterstown area. I highly recommend the Shaddock Mixed Martial Arts Academy.
We have enjoyed our experiences with The Karate Center! My son loves going to the classes and has learned many essential skills that has boistered his self~confidence as well as helped him to learn how to defend himself. Thank you Karate Center!
Sensei Bast is an outstanding instructor! This is our 8-year old's 4th attempt at karate and it's definitely the charm. Sensei Bast intuitively knows how to reach and challenge each of his students and keeps kids moving during class. The Clark Family
Positive Impact Martial Arts is exactly that. An extremely positive and professional environment with experienced and encouraging instructors teaching modern and traditional martial arts. All instructors promote good health and a positive attitude at all times. I told them my desires from the class and received them. I was challenged to meet my goals and was given encouragement as I climbed the ladder. It’s awesome, they have classes for adults and kids! You may have the option to train with your child! This is definitely the place to train and there is always something new to learn in class or in one of the seminars.
Brown's karate provides excellent instruction in the martial arts. I am over fifty years old and haven't been in better shape since I was in college. I started a little over four years ago and plan to continue for a very long time. You won't find a program lead by a more committed person dedicated to providing affordable and quality classes.
Excellent instruction. Mr A has worked hard to help me improve my skill in karate. Always a great class, fun and hard and designed to push me and help me to achieve the goals I've set for myself. At whatever level you are at, if you want to get better, then Mr A should be your first choice!
In the short time that I have been training at Virginia Okinawan Karate, I've learned so much about kata and how every movement has a practical application. Sensei teaches in a fun, motivating way. The upper belts are always willing to stay around after class to help you. While my schedule is busy, every minute of training with Sensei and the class is invigorating and motivating. I've trained for more than 10 years in other styles and recently just came back to martial arts. I am so grateful to have found this place. I highly recommend training at Virginia Okinawan Karate. The class structure and curriculum is ideal for adult practitioners. You'll have fun and learn practical self defense skills.
Sterling's karate class is well organized, especially for beginner to intermediate belts, all ages. He takes the time to teach the different level forms or "katas", and the students who competed in tournaments scored first or second.

We offer a system of self-defense that will give you the confidence to stand up for yourself and defend yourself if needed. In our experience, more confidence actually leads to fewer fights because you will no longer be seen as a target. An intense class can not only burn up to 800 calories, but will strengthen muscles and increase flexibility at the same time. It is a fun environment to get in the best shape of your life and learn self-defense.
