Nick came over and replaced my sump pump quickly, efficiently, and for a good price.
Walt got back to me immediately and had his best technician, Christopher out in 90 minutes. Christopher explained everything to me and reassured me that I didn't have a gas leak in my water heater. And he looked at a few other projects I have to do in the coming year. Great service, super friendly and very professional. I will definitely use Eagle Home Improvements again!
I was worried that perhaps I may have damaged a sump pump when trying to clean it, and I sent a request in through Thumbtack. I heard from Norlan a couple hours later, and as he was in the neighborhood, he stopped by for a quick look. He checked the sump pump and verified that there was no problem with it and that it did not require work. He did not charge me for this visit/appraisal. Norlan strikes me as a knowledgeable and honest person, I will certainly turn to him when I have a plumbing issue in the future.
We purchased a home that was built in the 1940's and during the winters, the house was unbearably cold, making most of the house miserable to be in and the heating bills were extremely high. Our crawl space wasn't sealed up. After reading outstanding reviews, we called Value Dry and Jim Ketterer and his team were exceptional to work with. They inspected what needed to be done, gave me an estimate that matched what I paid them, and they guaranteed the work even with transfer of home ownership. We had the crawl space encapsulated, added a sump pump with a back up, a sump pump drain, a window well with drainage, and they installed insulation in the cement walls of the foundation to completely seal it. We also have a humidistat so we can control the humidity underneath the house. Exceptional job! Our coldest days outside were mitigated inside by the insulation and our house is very comfortable to be in during the winter now. They worked hard to make sure the job was done correctly and I highly recommend their services.
Helped me out in a jam. Very responsive to my questions, very transparent into what he was charging and what sump pump products he was installing, and very punctual in showing up. Would definitely recommend.
Great plumbing company! We needed a sewage pump replacement, and Affordable Plumbing did the job very quickly and for a great price!!! Very nice and courteous!!
Marcos and his crew were a pleasure to work with! I hired Marcos to paint all three levels of our new home before moving in. The walls were in rough shape, holes, cracks, outlets to be moved/patched, some deep colors to cover. Marcos and his team transformed them. He also gladly helped with several side projects while he was here, and brought in a great electrician to help with some lighting and electrical projects. The quality of work, attention to detail, professionalism and work ethic of Marcos and his crew is second to none. One of the best contractors of any kind we have worked with. I would highly recommend him, in fact we have already hired him again for a project at our previous home.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
I needed quick and efficient service on a sump pump and regulatory valve and that is exactly what was provided. When he was running late prior to the appointment he let me know with anticipation. He even took the time to teach me about how a sump pump works which I’m sure is not in the jobs description. Great job. I would recommend this company without hesitation.
The company moved my boiler pipes in the basement to make way for a new exterior door. The work was fast and professional. The price was higher than I expected, however, multiple companies simply refused to do the job, at any price. The company coordinated with my remodelers, which was a great help. Again, many other HVAC companies I approached for an estimate told me that they just didn't do remodeling jobs, only repair and service. Overall, I'm glad I found David and ComfortFactor and I will keep them in mind for my future HVAC needs.
Tim and his crew did a great job on our basement finishing! Tim was very knowledgeable throughout the process and was very accommodating to with our busy schedules. He and his crew were very trustworthy as most of the time they worked in the house while we were away. Special thanks to Neil and the other gentleman on the team. They were always very friendly and responsive when I needed anything or had a question. My only negative, hence 4 stars, would be that I would have liked to only have had Tim as the sole POC versus us having to deal one on one with the other contractors on the project as it made for a lot of calls and additional tasks to manage. This was our first project so we were not really sure how everything worked. All in all, they did a great job and made our space beautiful! We would definitely use again for any project!
I wrote a previous review for the company but I have spoken with them since and have decided to amend my review. Thumbtack does not allow users to delete or modify prior reviews more than once so that is why I needed to start a new one. I wanted to say that I felt the company did a very good job with coming out quickly and being on time. The owner of the company came himself and did good work. At first, I was not too happy about the price because it was all happening very fast and it seemed like a high price to pay for the fix. After doing some research and realizing how close I came to even worse disaster, I believe the price was more fair then I originally believed. First of all, we had record rainfall the next 3 days after the fix was done. If Rem had not come out so quickly to fix the problem, I would of almost definitely of had a flooded basement. That would have cost thousands to fix. Second, I did not make mention that he had to do work outside the house as well going through the wall to replace the bad pipe. I think that I underestimated how difficult it was to get in there and properly fix the issue. It was not just about replacing a pipe but knowing how to properly do it in the corner of the basement and seal it up correctly. Even if the price was slightly more than another plumper, they still got the job done promptly and Rem was very friendly. I think it is worth considering them for other jobs and they even gave me a good quote for fixing the damaged drywall and adding a check valve to my sump pump. I was unaware that my sump pump was even missing a check valve. Apparently, that is standard code now and my pump was installed prior to that update. Please reconsider my past review and give 24/7 a chance. I think you will be happy.
Renaissance did an amazing job on my den. I originally hired them to mount a tv and ended up having him paint 2 rooms as well. They were on time, very responsive and knowledgeable. I had another contractor install a cable outlet and electrical outlet above my fireplace to make the mounting of my tv easy. However that contractor didn't do an efficient job and when Antonio mounted the tv both outlets were showing. It is very important to me that only the tv be visible after mounting. Antonio assured me that he would not only hide the cable box and cords but would fix the other contractors work as well. I was able to relax and everything was taken care of to my specifications. They went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and I was satisfied with the job. I would recommend them as well as use them again for other home improvement projects.
These guys have waterproofed 2 basements installing 4 sump pumps over a 3 year period. They have remained professional and service oriented throughout. They are truly the experts on basement waterproofing as it is all they do. They have a passion for doing it, you can tell they live and breath waterproofing basements, taking a lot of pride in their work. I call them to consult on other issues I am having in locations outside of the dc area, and they even offered to fly their to check it out for me. Truly awesome.
He showed up on time and installed the faucet and garbage disposal in a reasonable amount of time. He was very professional. I would definitely hire him again.
