I hired Ms. Thurmond to teach my 12 year old grandson flute. She quickly engaged him in the lesson. She reviewed the level of education he had received at school and developed a lesson plan for continued learning. She spent time explaining the importance of scales and finger exercises including musical theory. Ms. Thurmond frequently gave positive feedback and encouraged him to play some challenging music. Overall, I was very impressed with her teaching skill. I asked my grandson what he thought of Ms. Thurmond and he said, “She was awesome!” We will continue to use Ms. Thurmond for flute lessons.

Lesson pricing: 30 minute lesson= $25 60 minute lesson= $50 Monthly payment is preferred at the first lesson of the month.

I practice and perform regularly, attend workshops, masterclasses, and conferences related to flute playing, and take occasional lessons with master flute players.

Last year I subbed in two performances with the Richmond Symphony, and performed a United Way benefit concert with the "Symphony Musicians of Richmond".
