I really enjoyed and greatly benefitted from my singing lessons with Sarah. I used to find the bridges in my voice (transitioning from chest to head voice) made me feel less confident with songs that sat in an awkward range, but the exercises Sarah gave me really helped smooth out the sound across my whole range. Since she recorded every lesson I could hear the difference of how I sang the song before and after the exercises and the sound improved so much! If Sarah hadn't moved away, I would still be coming to her for lessons!
Claudia Carawan is simply the best. She is very thorough in her approach and explains both theory and application in a very straight forward manner. She combines technical practice with real life application and works toward developing your own voice to its fullest extent. Very professional. I find there is a nice mix between working on scales and vocal techniques combined with singing and working on actual songs (of my choice!!) makes the lesson go by very smoothly and you walk away with more confidence and more ability. The setting is comfortable, the space is very open for creativity and Claudia is an extremely encouraging type of teacher/coach - she is very positive and continually reinforces in a very positive manner - this is most helpful. She is very experienced and this is obvious in her coaching as she can draw on so many past experiences and has a broad depth of musical references to draw from (e.g. jazz, R&B, rock, soul, country, etc.) - she understands how to draw out the best in your voice and gives a very solid foundation that you can grow from and continually develop from for years to come. The best!!!
Truly cares about the student's success. Willing to be flexible for scheduling voice lessons times. Very knowledgable about the voice and how to produce the best quality of sound.
My daughter started taking lessons from Dana about a month ago! She has made so much progress in a very short amount of time. Dana is enthusiastic and so much fun! Dana is professional while at the same time makes learning fun. It is obvious that music is her passion! My daughter loves going to piano lessons!
Deleyse is awesome! In my first lesson I was very nervous, but she was very personable and made it easy for me to get comfortable. She made sure to challenge me and take me out of my comfort zone in every lesson so that I could learn new things and get better as a singer. She even helped me put together a song that I wrote. She supported me through the entire recording process in the studio. I am so glad that I was referred to her because she has definitely made a permanent impact on my experience as a singer for the better!
Joshua provides piano lessons for my son. He started as a begginer without any previous knowledge of playing the piano. Since we've started my son is not only playing music but reading it as well! The lessons are very thorough and informative. I have referred Joshua to people all over the city!
Amy Reams taught me so much about my voice and how to sing and I will be forever grateful for her!! She not only taught me to sing well, but to have confidence and a stage presence as well. She is an angel and I appreciate her talents for singing and teaching!!
I loved the way he presented music to me, I had been struggling for a long time with the guitar and he got me playing my favorite song in a month, and singing along too!! The class was fun and dynamic so I was never bored or uninterested. Thumbs up!
Start first lesson with Amy tomorrow. She seems absolutely wonderful!
I have been instructing all ages, from 5 years old through 65 years old for some 35 years. I'm a VCU graduate in piano performance and organ and church music minor. I would appreciate new students as well as playing and/or directing music programs in a small- and medium-sized Protestant congregation.
I have been teaching individuals guitar and music lessons for six years. My forte is in beginning and intermediate guitar skills along with reading music charts. I have studied music for about 12 years.
The good thing about my program students and parents love when you can travel to them to make it easier for them.
I offer vocal and beginner piano lessons for all ages. I have a studio in my home that I have my lessons in. I make sure we don't move too fast or slow. The lesson is built on your experience, goals and comfort level. I like to make the lessons fun and comfortable, so you can reach your maximum potential as the awesome musical you and I both know you can be!
We service new and preowned pianos and baby grands. We do all levels of piano services from a simple tuning to full rebuilding. We also teach piano, voice, guitar and violin lessons. We store pianos and move them locally and long distance.
Let's Play Music is a music theory course that emphasizes total musicianship through piano playing, singing, classical music, note reading and ear training, and it's accomplished through play! Children start the 3-year program at age 4-6. If you were to peek in on a Lets Play Music class, you would see jumping, singing, skipping, storytelling, and laughing! Music educators have long taught that the young child learns best through play, experience, and discovery. As musical concepts and skills are presented in a playful, joyful setting, children absorb knowledge and ability.
I am a former star of the hit Broadway show, Rent, who provides professional voice, piano and music theory lessons.
I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer and singer. As a full-time musician, I spend a lot of time in recording studios and traveling with my band. I just moved down to the Richmond area from the Baltimore, MD, where I did weekly lessons on guitar, piano, and voice with kids and adults from ages 5-70. All of my students came through word of mouth, but being new to the area I thought I would try Thumbtack. I've always tried to make learning how to play some of your favorite songs, as well as learning music theory a good time. It shouldn't be anything less than that. Thanks and hope to hear from you if you are interested in setting something up.
I give guitar (acoustic/electric), bass, violin, banjo, viola, ukulele, mandolin, dulcimer, and saxophone lessons.
I teach piano and voice lessons. We would meet once a week for 30 minutes. I provide interactive lessons which include music theory. All ages and skill sets are welcome!
I have been singing for 33 years. I primarily sing gospel but not limited to one genre of music. I have sang in several choirs. I have experiences in directing and serving as a praise and worship leader. I do not have a degree, but I can teach you how to stay on key and sing from the very soul.
