I have been practicing yoga with Shannon for almost three years now and it is all because of the supportive and nurturing attitude I experience every time I enter the studio! She is very welcoming to all and interested in each "yogi" having a personal experience that meets her/his physical needs. I have felt my body improve in flexibility, range of motion, balance etc. and Shannon has helped to facilitate that. I am a retired educator and I really appreciate that she shares and explains jargon helping to build my yoga vocabulary in each session. She has celebrated successes with me and encouraged me to try more challenging classes and different forms of yoga with different instructors. She works individually with each class member in a nonthreatening manner and builds a sense of community within our group. What went well in my interactions with Shannon?EVERYTHING!:) Donna V.

Shannon is the Bomb. I have taken a weekly class with her for over a year now and it is always a treat, never the same and always a lot of fun. She devised a yoga practice to help me with my hypertension for which I am forever grateful. She has also raised the bar at my gym, getting classes put on the schedule that one might only find at studios, and is always teaching new things she has learned at all the workshops she always takes. She loves what she does, as well as her students, and it always shows. The Bomb I tell ya!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I frequently take immersions, workshops, other teachers classes, and anything that helps me to further my knowledge in yoga. Since September of 2014, I've traveled once a month to Charlotte for continuing education towards my Yoga Therapy Certificate.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Please be sure that if you seek out a yoga instructor, be sure to check their credentials as to if they COMPLETED at the least, a 200 Hour yoga training and have registered with Yoga Alliance. This is a national yoga registry that is intended to uphold standards of teachers and teacher trainings. Never be scared to ask for proof of certification, CPR, and even ask for referrals!
