5 Stars, I would give 10 if I could! I found Chef Paul and Stephanie on Thumbtack I believe back in April or May for a high-profile International Hop Growers Congress dinner that took place outside of the Yakima area. From the beginning, I knew they were perfect. Chef Paul drew up an absolutely gorgeous menu for us, highlighting local ingredients to our area and Stephanie was unbelievably incredible from start to finish. Both of their professionalism, organization and communication with me was stellar. I have to say, after working with them for so long for this dinner, I'm really sad I don't get to talk to them anymore! I used to always look forward to my phone calls with Stephanie because she made the process so fun and I knew everything was in stellar hands. Their crew arrived on-site after for some, a 3-hour drive. Even despite the 100 degree heat, they were so cheerful, professional and happy. The food that was presented was some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Our attendees spanned the globe and the comments from them were not only plentiful, but heartfelt as people fell in love with their food. I have a hard time with perfection as it is usually unattainable but for the first time, I can say that our experience with Emerald City Cakes and Chocolates was absolute perfection. Their food made our special evening complete, their staff was so fun to work with and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you so much Chef Paul, Stephanie, & Crew!
I selected Thyme Well Spent Catering because my girlfriend used them for a graduation party in June and she highly recommended the company. I decided to give them a chance and use them for my cousin's September wedding. (I am a chef myself so I was in charge of the food for the wedding) Being a chef, I have to say that I was highly impressed with the cuisine that was brought in from Thyme Well Spent Catering. The anti-pasto platter and bruschetta for appetizer were displayed to perfection, the side dishes and entrées were the correct portion and seasoned to perfection. I was highly impressed with their style and presentation . I would definitely recommend Thyme Well Spent to anyone who needs any event catered.

The experience we all had with Bobby Greene was amazing from beginning to end. Throughout the entire process, he was very kind, accommodating, and, from what I hear, his food was divine. I would highly recommend him for any event. Frankly, if there were more stars, I would add them. But five will have to do. For my parents anniversary, I wanted to do something special. I ended up looking into private chefs and decided to put in a request to see what it would take to get this done. This option appealed to me as there is only one nice restaurant where my parents live and they go there every event. I wanted this to be something special for their 30th. Bobby Greene responded to my event request within hours with a bid and a very nice response on how he wanted to be a part of making their anniversary special. From that point forward, he personally helped me along the process and accommodated anything and everything I requested. I had never done anything like this before and had a lot of questions, all of which he answered readily. My mother was a bit picky when it came to the food, but he accommodated every request I had when putting the menu together. He was always very gracious and kind throughout the entire thing even when I thought I was being too pushy. He always made me feel welcome to ask questions and to make requests. I wasnt actually there for the experience, but I requested that my mother write a little excerpt about it so I could include in this review: Our youngest daughter surprised us with Bobby a private chef for our 30th anniversary. We found out when he showed up (we had the pre-warning of cleaning the house and wearing something nice). I felt very uncomfortable with the idea as we have an older home small kitchen and no dishwasher. But what was at first self-consciousness quickly gave way to Bobbys easygoing attitude. He made us feel at ease immediately with his warm, inviting personality. He let us set the ambiance. He could have stayed in the background for the romantic evening or be a part of it. He was so engaging though that we invited him into our evening. As he served each course, he explained what we were eating and how it was prepared. My husband and I met working in a restaurant 31 years prior so we were fascinated by the process. The food was delicious and I have to admit there were no leftovers! Though he is not a baker, he even made my favorite dessert a pineapple upside down cake and it was superb. My husband and I highlight recommend Bobby for any special occasion. He is truly talented; the food is prepared to perfection; and, he is very personable and engaging. We will always remember our 30th with great affection.
We had a fabulous wedding and Tara was a large part of making that a reality. Tara is detail oriented, flexible, and most of all, an amazing chef! I enjoyed working with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for great food at a reasonable price for their event. While looking for a caterer, I found many quotes excluded significant costs such as Chef time, server time, etc. One quote doubled once these were added to the estimate. Not so with Tara. Her quote was accurate. She was upfront about the total price per plate and there were no surprise costs. Tara provided a tasting that was VERY reasonably priced. We brought along a couple friends for opinions and were blown away by the feast before us. There were appetizers, a salad, at least three main courses, and four or five sides. The tasting really showcased Tara’s talents and made it easy to choose her as our caterer. Once we had booked with Tara, she was available to discuss our menu as our needs evolved. When we added extra rentals and food to our contract, Tara took everything in stride and made it work. On the day of our wedding, everything went smoothly. We have received praise from multiple friends and family one of whom described her food as “Top notch”. Our day of coordinator told me she enjoyed working with Tara and would recommend her to future clients. Thank you Tara for being so wonderful to work with and making our day one to remember!
Chef Ken is the best! Incredibly skilled and knowledgeable yet completely humble and polite. We were thrilled with our experience and will absolutely look to work with Chef Ken again many times in the future!
Brett was professional, timely and made delicious food that was tailored to by unique palate. It was a great introduction to thumbtack and having a professional chef, with how busy I am with work. Greatly appreciated, and looking forward to continuing to utilize this in the future.
We hired David Boyd to create an anniversary dinner for 2 at our house. David was the most responsive and communicative and so won the job. From there our expectations were exceeded. The price was a great value. The effort he put in from taking the time to come to the house and pre-viewing the kitchen, and asking about the local food markets and pre-viewing them several days ahead of time. Then the day of the job he asked to begin at 2PM for a 7:30 dinner, and he had printed up a special menu on nice paper that was a great unanticipated touch. While in the kitchen he welcomed any questions and was happy to share his knowledge. He made a complimentary and fantastic amuse bouche avocado soup, Farmer's cheese from scratch to go with the roasted carrots glazed in peppered honey; a phenomenal dish. The halibut was artfully prepared and presented with a peach serrano chutney and creamy pan sauce that was over the top, and an amazing dessert of chocolate mousse with macerated berries and almond crumble. From start to finish it was a lot of fun to have David in our home and a part of our special occasion. On top of being a great passionate chef he is a charismatic , articulate, interesting ,and intelligent new friend of ours. We highly recommend that you strongly consider him with confidence for any professionally prepared meal you need.
Nichole put together a delicious birthday brunch menu for me and 5 of my girlfriends. The dishes she prepared were creative and fresh. For example the Mediterranean Cucumber Cups were a perfect appetizer, and the Mini Spinach & Feta Frittatas were a hit. Nichole also made a Chocolate Guinness Cake with Coconut Frosting that was a big hit at my party! She arrived on time and took care of the clean-up after everything was done. She's very detail-oriented and organized. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend Nichole to anyone who considers hiring a private chef for their event.
We hired Sue for a private party for a small group. She was collaborative on the menu and helped us with all the prep for the evening. She was on time. Very professional and pleasant. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend her to others.
Both Shauna and David are very professional at what they do,in all areas of the food industry.From buying and preparing top of the line ingredients,to using the "this is all I have to cook with"and making it look and taste like it's top of the line ingredients.I have had the pleasure of eating both of Shaunas and Davids meals prepared in a restaurant,and at their home,both very well planned and very tasty.Shauna and David are also very good at recommending drinks, and food depending on your likes and dislikes. Whether cooked in oven,or on a barbecue,never been disappointed.
If you are looking for a wonderful Chef who is also an event planner, look no further than Chef Berttron. This guy was amazing. I am the Mother of the bride and from our first meeting through the wedding day (August 1, 2015) he was nothing but professional and he extremely good at what he does. Chef Berttron and his staff helped from start to finish with setup, cleanup, service, and everything in between. Everyone was impressed with the food. We had Chicken Marsala, Halibut in dill butter sauce, Salad with pears and candied walnuts in a raspberry vinaigrette, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and fresh made rolls. There was even enough to take extra home. Additionally, he was very good about accommodating for a food allergy the Groom had. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful job Chef Berttron and his staff did. Not only is Chef Berttron professional, but he has a take charge personality that allows you to really relax and enjoy the day and he does it all with a smile. Thank you Chef Berttron for all that you did to make our Daughters wedding day picture-perfect and providing us with the confidence to place everything in your control which allowed us to really enjoy the day worry free!

I've hired Edible Hue for several events, and have enjoyed each of them immensely. Chef Andy, Myrissa, and Amara provide an experience that has had my guests raving for months. They're a joy to collaborate with, and they accommodate my typical Seattle crowd (a mix of vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-sensitive, lactose intolerant) with patience and grace. I am always at ease knowing they're at the helm. At the last event, several people expressed that they were "blown away" by the food. I can't wait to have an excuse to hire them again!
I have ordered several of Melody's delicious raw cashew pies in the past and they always exceed my expectations. Not only are the desserts beautifully presented and delivered on time, they make me and my guests feel great because they are made from the finest ingredients. I work at a non profit that provides a Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless ever year. Chef Charlie has been amazing in volunteering his time and skills to cook our Thanksgiving dinner for 200 plus marginalized people. Not only is his food delicious, but he brings such a joy to the kitchen. He is professional and able to direct all of the kitchen volunteers (some of which have never cooked before). Most importantly, during Thanksgiving he makes sure that everyone (no matter their life status) has the opportunity to have a 'fine dining' experience for Thanksgiving.
