Introduction: I provide quality technique and a nurturing environment which is fun for all ages and ability levels. We have group lessons in a fun and diverse multicultural environment. We give concerts in a variety of locations, from casual to formal. We play Western Classical Music, Holiday Music, and Fiddle tunes.
I love music and I love children so it is a match to be teaching them. I also enjoy sharing music with any age as accomplishment brings joy to their lives. Music is a family activity and I enjoy bringing families together.

“Both my kids have been learning violin with Ms. Heather for more than a year. They have made tremendous progress and have developed passion and commitment towards music. The total credit goes to the teacher and the Suzuki methodology that she uses. She is very committed, amazingly good with kids, very patient and encouraging. She works closely with kids as well as parents. The weekly group lesson, which is included, is key to my kids sustained interest. They are always looking forward to learning the next songs when they hear their peers play. She doesn't hold back from teaching more during her private lessons if one is well prepared.
She organizes concerts for kids during each season. My kids are always excited to perform in public and hence practicing happens naturally. She also makes sure the parents get a platform to meet other Suzuki parents through the yearly Suzuki festival and concerts.
With other violin teacher I have tried for my kids, there was a total lack of connect with the methodology as well as the teacher. Now, my kids remind me to be taken to the violin lessons. When this happens to you as a parent, you know you have found the right teacher and we are happy to have found Ms. Heather.”

I run a music store on Mercer Island and for years I've sent students to Heather and its been nothing but Magic as the students progress into fine viola players who mostly end up being first chair at their schools. I've also sent adults to her and they too have become accomplished viola players. She also teaches Violin and does the same wonderful work with them too. Heather is a true professional, as she also plays for the Northwest Symphony. Many of her students raise to such a level that they are often invited to accompany the Northwest symphony as guest. Heather is simply the best.

Heather is a masterful teacher. She knows about every aspect of violin/viola playing, understands the needs of different learning styles and really cares about her students' physical well-being and artistry. After a bad experience with another teacher, I (a 60+ adult) have thrived under her teaching. She is rigorous, but fun, and the weekly group lessons really speed up a person's progress.
