They either need more experience or only commit to jobs they have experience for. Hired to assist with a home office, crown moulding and installing some base cabinets & counters. First, I LOVED they’re woman owned. They were VERY responsive and offered a fair market rate for handyman/woman services. The called and confirmed a day ahead and gave update in arrival day of. They were professional and respectful. We went over the job by phone, I was told they had a carpenter on their crew. I sent photos, all went well. They did need to borrow our miter saw and their estimated hours for the entire job was not enough but the priced it as such & honored it. In the end they did a good job but they need more experience or they need to say we don’t do that. Our room was approx 12x12, all moulding was 9’. We found a lot of cuts, some pieces just a few inches before a join. Some joins were very wide (1/2”) & filled with wood putty. My husband went in, “made lemonade outta lemons” (crown moulding). Otherwise desk and counters were installed fine but we did have to go back & shim a cabinet so the 2 corner cabinets were level with one another and so we could get countertop join leveled. I do think these woman have skills and with more experience or perhaps the right job types they’ll get more experience and skilled in areas they don’t have as much experience. They offered to come back, make it right but they drove a long distance for this job. I was not going to ask them to make that drive again. Not to mention, my husband had the skills needed but not the time. Since they did most of the “heavy lifting” of the job he was fine finishing it up. In short, stick with projects they are comfortable doing or if not experienced just set expectations accordingly, maybe charge by job, not hours for carpentry projects they don’t have as much experience in. And in their defense I should have asked more questions upfront specifically on moulding experience.

We had Vanessa from 3 Chicks and a Hammer do some wood working projects at our house. She is very skilled, friendly, and paid attention to every detail. Two of the three projects were fairly complicated and all three turned out great. She made sure we were happy with her work each step of the way. I highly recommend this company! Thank you Vanessa.
