Getting married in another state can be very stressful. Especially when you do not know of any officiants that can be involved on an intimate level. My partner and I were very blessed because having a same-sex relationship poses many challenges. We were very lucky because we met Jan Carter online. She assisted us with the writing of our beautiful vows and was very organized and had great follow-through from the very first day we contacted her to now. She assisted us in finding a witness and was very punctual the day of our wedding. She seemed very kind over the phone and through emails, but in person she is even kinder. I hope you take this opportunity to reach out to Jan and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If you get the opportunity ask Jan to bring her mom to your wedding I guarantee you'll be very surprised. She served as one of our witnesses and her being there was one of our precious moments.

Jan was a joy to work with both in the planning and execution of our wedding ceremony. She is kind-hearted, creative, and organized. My new husband and I feel so lucky to have had Jan conduct our ceremony. Jan performed a special "family" oriented ceremony for my husband and I last June (2013). She helped us incorporate our siblings and parents into the ceremony upon our request. Though Jan crafted the script herself, she let us add our own elements and ideas. She was always reachable when we had new ideas and edits. On both the rehearsal day and the day of our wedding, Jan arrived early and was well prepared. She performed the ceremony perfectly and I received many compliments from family members on her warmth and beautiful words. We could not have asked for a better officiant.

Whether you are a local couple or out of State we would highly recommend Rev Jan Carter to you if you are seeking a wedding officiant to perform your marriage. We came to her from Texas and not only did she get to know us a little before performing our marriage she graciously allowed us into her own home to do so as we had no family attending. My husband and I were both moved to tears during the ceremony and could not be happier with Rev Jan and her professional service.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have had a fascination with love, courtship, marriage, and divorce since I was in high school. I am a romantic. It is creative work and allows me to meet lots of people and go different places. I love public speaking. It was a great fit for all my interests and talents. I have the best job in the world!
