Introduction: Mission statement:
My business is especially designed to guide guitar students to reach their musical goals through private, detailed guitar instruction, consistency, structured practice, and fun!
What the student needs:
In my opinion, you don’t need to be a musical protégé to play any musical instrument. This includes the guitar. No “Natural talent” or past experience required here. All you or a child need in my book, is the interest in the instrument, the willingness to learn and a guitar to play. Houlihan Private Guitar Lessons provides the rest.
Experience:
I have been playing the guitar myself for over 10 years. I took structured, private lessons for 9 of those 10 years in addition to music theory courses at the collegiate level. I have played in a live band for an extended period of time and currently play for Hillsong Church-Phoenix. I have been teaching private guitar lessons for 6 years. I specialize in blues-rock and blues improve, but I also teach various other styles of playing.
Lesson Planning:
I love working with kids and helping them excel. When working with this age group, effective structure is imperative. I have designed an effective, 8 level program to help each student learn in a structured and efficient manor. This way, each student is able to feel a sense of achievement and pride after learning each new concept. This 8 level program covers the fundamentals of the guitar, music theory, and ear training. In addition to my curriculum, I teach songs that the student would like to learn. My Goals are to help each student become the musician they desire to be. I’m always excited to take on new students and to help them improve their musical abilities.
My passion is playing the guitar, passing on that knowledge to others who desire to learn, and watching my students reach their musical goals. Jeff has a natural talent for mentoring his students in the core values of life, which is a priceless quality in such a young man. Both my sons have and are being tutored by Jeff not only musically but also with swimming and his approach to finding the best out of his students rivals other tutors twice his age.

We are very happy with Jeff as our guitar instructor. He is very patient with our child who is currently 8. I really like how Jeff works on fundamentals at every lesson and then introduces a new chord at each lesson or so. I would highly recommend him!

Jeffrey is very professional and organized. He listens well to what the student wishes to learn and then adjusts his own methods to build good lessons. He has an easygoing personality and makes the lessons fun.
