FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Arabic belly dance interacts with its music, which has many changing moods, rhythms, and styles. Thus it is hard to be engaged by it without hearing the music. This is generally true of all dance but emphatically true of Arabic belly dance, since both the dance and music are exotic and unfamiliar to most people. Like dancing in the dark, people can't really see it if they can't hear it. Therefore, when hiring Arabic belly dance entertainment, be sure that your audio circumstances are thoroughly considered so that the music she provides will be heard. Are you able to play CD or iPod? I generally have both ready in case one is better. Do your speakers provide a big enough sound considering the size of your room and number of guests? Oftentimes, hosts underestimate how much more volume is needed when their space is filled with people (often talking) or their celebration is outdoors (for example, on a patio). In the nine years I've been doing private party performances it is not uncommon to have to increase volume once my music is started. Therefore, please make sure someone remains near the audio controls for at least the first 30 seconds to make this adjustment if needed. Better yet, avoid all of this by hiring live music to accompany your dancer. Although it may cost a bit more, even with just two musicians your audio logistics are taken care of and you will give your guests an incomparably authentic experience. Whichever you choose, when hiring a dancer please optimize the money you've spent on this beautiful entertainment by ensuring that music logistics are not neglected. Your dancer is a physical manifestation of that music, and through it she can take you on an unforgettable journey.
