I started drum lessons with Chris in November of 16 and am currently still a weekly student. Chris's professionalism and willingness to cater to my specific needs is second to none. He has to date, turned me from a beginner student to a novice drummer with a dozen or so songs in my portfolio. He has helped me build my drum kit with as much excitement as I have had. Chris is an excellent instructor and a great guy.

About

Started guitar lessons a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. I was self taught and played by ear. Didn't feel I had time for lessons. But, I was missing a lot of the fundamentals. The lessons have started to fill in the gaps and I'm learning a lot faster than before. I wish I started these lessons a couple of years ago. And way too easy taking these lessons at my place. Highly recommended!

About

Ed has been giving my son Jack drum lessons for awhile now and Jack is really into it and really likes Ed's style of teaching. Being a drummer myself I will say that Ed has a way with kids to get them to learn and enjoy it all at the same time. Thanks Ed.

My Son Arya who is 12 years old has been learning piano from Andrew White for almost 7 years now and there are no words to describe how wonderful our experience has been. He understood exactly how much Arya can do and always pushed and challenged him to do better. He is also helping us identify and register Arya to take Piano exams. My son is also taking drum classes from Destin who works with Andrew White school of Music for last 6 months. Destin is an amazing and dedicated teacher. He makes learning fun but teaches at the speed in which my child is able to learn. My son has always been a very fast learner in most of the instruments and Destin is challenging him enough to learn to play drums for songs at his level. So far I have been super impressed with how Destin has been training Arya and highly recommend him for drums training and Andrew of course of Piano classes.

Jason is an outstanding drum teacher. I have been taking lessons with him for a year now. He has taken me from a complete music beginner with no discernable rhythm to the point where I can read the music, HEAR the time of the music, play all kinds of neat rhythms and play my full drum kit along to songs. Jason is organized, passionate and focused on making sure you become the best drummer you can be.

About

I provide drum and percussion lessons at my home studio for students of all ages and abilities. I teach all styles - everything from jazz to rock, funk, soul, R&B, Latin, Brazilian, New Orleans, African, reggae, hip-hop, etc. A little about me: I am the drummer and percussionist for Juno award-winning, Canadian band, The Paperboys, regularly touring in Europe, also in Canada and the US. I make my home in the historical Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where I teach drummers of all ages. A proud endorser of Protection Racket Drum Cases, I also perform with various other bands including Polyrhythmics, Cordaviva, Si Limon, Locarno, Maracuja, Eduardo Mendonca, Brazil Novo, Eli Rosenblatt and Friends, Adriana Giordano, and in musical theatre productions. My passion lies in performing, creating, teaching, and experiencing music of all styles. My greatest influences have been attending concerts, traveling, and listening to records during college. Growing up in Southern California, I began studying private drum lessons at age 8 and proceeded through high school. In 2003, I changed location to the Pacific Northwest to attend University of Puget Sound where I performed in underground jazz, percussion ensemble, some small jazz combos, and an energetic funk band. At Puget Sound, I majored in International Business, minored in Spanish, and studied jazz history and world music. Throughout college, I studied Latin percussion for Afro-Cuban and Salsa music. Similarly, I became enthralled by Brazilian music and have journeyed to Brazil two times to study and experience their captivating music. A substantial portion of my record collection is made up of records purchased in Brazil. Needless to say, I love music and I am confident I can provide inspiration while helping you attain your goals, whether you want to become a professional gigging musician, or just learn to play your favorite songs.

My son has been taking drum lessons from Rick Spano for the last 3 years, and he has enjoyed every second of it! We have been very happy with his progress and would recommend Rick Spano Drum Studio to anyone who would like to learn drums. Rick's long-time drum experience and his teaching ability make him an excellent choice for an instructor.

I have been taking weekly drum lessons from Michael for almost two years. The amount I have learned is amazing. I am in my mid-fifties and had never played an instrument. I was intimidated and nervous, but Michael is easy going and put me at ease during my very first lesson. He is a true professional teacher and has helped me learn some awesome grooves the right way. One of my favorite quotes from him is, "Every note counts!" He does not sugar coat anything which really helps me learn and stay focused. He has a fine tuned ear! I can honestly say that my drum lessons have been an amazing experience both personally and musically. Michael is not only a great drummer and teacher, he is a great person!

These are often posted on my FB page. Students are encouraged to and can engage anytime with me through my FB page with questions, and posts of a music or drumming nature. My simple mission is to have students excel at drumming and develop a lifelong joy and passion for the instrument and music. Happy drumming to you! Warm regards, Glenn Thilman Testimonial: "My son started playing drums when he was 15. It was his first experience playing an instrument. I thought he was a typical teenage boy wanting to be in a rock band and figured the interest would die, but somehow, Glenn got him hooked and he fed that interest and developed my son's talent. Over the three years of lessons, his skill and confidence grew quickly." -- Lisa (Sept. 28, 2011)

About

We offer private drum and percussion lessons. Listen to some of the kinds of music we can teach. One-on-one instruction is the best method used for special learning interests or needs, as well as for a focused and intense course of study, even in overcoming personal issues such as discomfort or shyness in large groups. If you belong into one of these group, or just would simply like learning at your own pace, fast or slow, then personalized and private instruction is the way to go. Private lessons are generally half-hour or one-hour long, and consist of exercises and foundation concepts to develop your coordination, rhythm, mechanical independence, sense of time, and speed. Speed in drumming is a result of good training and technique. The first step in developing your skill as a drummer is to establish good technique no matter what the course of study is. Independence is the ability to carry out numerous rhythmic tasks at once: voice, hands, and feet. Your musicianship level is directly related to your ability to do independent work. Private instruction is available for all or any of the following instruments: * Drum kit * Timbales * Ashiko * Bata * Bongos * Congas * Cajon * Djembe * Guiro * Maracas * Shekere * Udu * Other smaller percussion instruments
