Introduction: We've always loved being our couples' trusted sounding board for their questions, and all of our wedding planning packages and online tools are created with this concept in mind. When you have the organizational tools and wedding industry knowledge you need, wedding planning becomes a much easier process. I worked with Candi of Thrifty Events on a complicated multi-day conference and she was an absolute pleasure to work with! She jumped in to the project only a few months before the event and hit the ground running. The event was all inclusive for our small number of guests (less than 20) and was very intensive. We literally had to have every activity planned down to the minute for a full 14 hours each day for 3 days. The planning involved flights, meals, activities, presentations, transportation, you name it! Our budget was not extravagant, however, so I was impressed with her creativity with making the event classy while staying reasonably priced. She has a wonderfully bubbly personality but is also no-nonsense. She will be open and honest with you about what will and will not work given the budget and time frame. She did a great job of asking questions along the way to ensure the final event was executed perfectly and the guests left with a great experience. Candi has a really incredible way of remaining calm, cool and collected throughout the entire planning process (which is much appreciated because I am a bit more high strung). I am so impressed with her ability to keep all of the little details organized and under control. I would definitely recommend working with her on any event needs, from weddings, parties, multi-day conferences and anything in between. She is simply the best!

Candi planned and coordinated my sister's baby shower for me and it was wonderful. She was so professional and easy to work with. I was able to give her my budget and a couple of ideas I had and she turned it into something better than I could have imagined. My sister loved her shower. I will definitely be using Candi again!

We hired Thrifty Events for our day of wedding coordination; and it was hands down one of the best decisions we made. Candi is easy-going, organized, and knows what she is doing. She has a passion for events, and weddings in particular. She and her partner were amazing assets on the day of: setting up and breaking down, as well as handling all of the vendor coordination. She also ran our rehearsal the day before the wedding; which really put me and my husband at ease. We used several of Candi's vendor recommendations, and couldn’t have been happier. She had affordable suggestions for catering, photography, hair/make-up and bartending. Each of these recommendations panned out beyond our expectations. Candi, is one of those few people, who truly loves what she does, and she has fun doing it - her passion shines through. If you are looking for a thoughtful day of coordinator, wedding or party planner, with great attention to detail, and a resource of expertise - hire Thrifty Events (before someone else does) for your date!

I hired Candi at Thrifty Events for day of coordination for my wedding. My experience with Thrifty Events from the first phone call through the day of our wedding was absolutely wonderful. Candi was both pleasant and professional throughout every exchange whether it was with me and my groom, other vendors, and/or wedding party and family members. All of my vendors and many of my guests commented on how great a job Candi did on planning and executing the wedding. Throughout the planning process Candi was quick to respond and to take action and her communication(s) were always clear, timely, and thorough. She was very generous with her time and knowledge and did a wonderful job of addressing issues and helping come up with solutions. She is also well connected in the wedding industry/community and I found her recommendations to be quite helpful and the services I received were of good quality. Candi was extremely proactive throughout the planning process, in the months, weeks, and days leading up to the wedding. She provided great direction and put together a manageable timeline to include the important events throughout ceremony and reception. We met on multiple occasions to ensure that we were in constant alignment in terms of expectations. She helped map out the layout of the venue and also took the lead in helping facilitate our wedding rehearsal (because our officiant was absent). One of the main attractions of working with Thrifty Events was that I had one main person who was in charge and knew what my expectations were and could communicate that to the other vendors and use that to thread the whole wedding together. The wedding was incredibly lovely and exceeded my expectations. To the best of my knowledge, not a single thing went wrong! Of course, I’m sure that multiple things went haywire at the last minute, but that was the real beauty behind hiring Thrifty Events – those unexpected “fires” were handled and put out by Candi behind the scenes so that you can be present and really be in the moment on your wedding day. Thrifty Events was a pleasure to work with and comes highly recommended.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer wedding day-of coordination in the Reno/Tahoe and Greater Seattle area for $1800-2000. For destination weddings, add cost for airfare and accommodations.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To get started, I like to meet up over tea/coffee so I can learn more about you and your partner, and your wedding plans. I'll also show you the planning tools I use with my clients and answer any questions you have about our services. Afterwards, if it's a good fit, I'll follow up with an online contract so make things official.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began event planning at the UW Seattle campus in 2013 for their undergraduate admissions office. I'd put together single day events, up to full conferences, anywhere from 15-1500 people. I quickly learned this was the area of my job I liked the most, and started Block Weddings & Events (formerly Thrifty Events) in 2015. I've been planning weddings and events ever since!
